| Anyone seen this month's edition of Rugby League World? There's an article on Offiah, and he is asked his view on Quins. In summary he said that we have so few supporters it would not matter if we were in Super League or The Championship. Indeed it may even be to our benefit in the long run if it were the latter. London's players may never reach their full potential by staying at the club.
This guy is the agent for many of our players. Discuss.
My own view is that his acrimony remains after falling out with Tony Rea some years ago. His track record with players is not brilliant. He has turned a stellar player in Richie Myler into a reserve grade player at Warrington. None of the players like Sherriffe and Worrincey rhat he encouraged to move to Bradford have succeeded. what do others think?

| I don't rate Offiah's opinions on anything to do with game, except maybe relating to his own experiences as a player. In addition, his expressed views are obviously coloured by his role as a players' agent.
Don't think you can blame Richie Myler's inability to play at SL level on him though.
Maybe the better players are wised up enough not to use his services?

| Typical comments you would expect from him- Front end only. Opinion based on one factor -crowd
Is he a HKR fan in disguise.

| 1) The London team should be in SL because, as much as it must annoy our northern cousins, if we weren't rugby league would revert back to a northern sport and get (even) less media coverage (and money).
2) As pointed out, the fact a player is at London means nothing for their development in comparison to say playing at Huddersfield, Bradford, Leeds etc..... If the player is good and receives good coaching then they'll progress. Simple as that. Being in a team that gets hammered each week will allow the player to see the standard he needs to play at....instead of being a St Helens player and being able to rely on your team mates to do something special to win the match.
3) This is an example of one person having too many "hats" in the sport. He is known now as a great (Albeit, only at running fast) player, media pundit, players agent...probably other things I've not mentioned....surely he can't do both...the guy must be sooo far from unbias!!

| Offiah made his name playing for Widnes, he has a soft spot for them and wants them back in SL, and isnt really bothered who goes to facilitate this ... ironic given two of his other clubs 'Broncos' and Reds are amongst the possible victims.

| Don't have much respect for Offiah any longer, he had the world at his hands and could have done great PR for the game but in latter years he became more a Joker than many made out Eddie Waring to be, at least Eddie put a lot back into the game.
As regards playing at being a players agent, he is more like a "Spiv" if I was a young player I would think carefully about anything he said to me!

| Mr Offiah plays to the M62 crowd, he does not have the vision to see the potential of the south and takes the lazy way out by worshipping his perceived one obvious fact.
Friends like him we can do without. I shudder to think what effect he has on our young players.

| Never believe what Offiah has to say since he often cocks up on sky sports and is a joke. He is away with the fairies and should be banned.

| Offiah is a joke. He can't string two sentances together. He should be eternally grateful to London for lining his pockets as a player at the end of his career and now as players manager. Where else does he look for players to 'manage', London is full of young players who will break through over the next few years and he will be there begging and poaching.

| Offiah will only say what suits HIM.
He has an agenda, it isn't hidden either...he wants to profit from the production line built and paid for by David Hughes...he is a carpetbagger and I believe the club should ban him from any contact with players under contract to Harlequins Rugby League at any age grade.

Please get your facts right. This is nothing to do with us. Absolutely nothing.
Martin Offiah left us in the worst of circumstances, by refusing to play until we sold him. Ever since this his club has been Wigan, and he has even referred to Wigan as "us" when commentating in a BBC match against Widnes. There is still some animosity in both camps, and recently admitted he was surprised that he recieved a warm reception recently at Widnes. The fans might remember him for his skill and talent, and the success he had in his short time at the club, but he is not a Widnes man and would not care less about dropping you for us. As a southerner I suspect he would be against it. I'm surprised he has come out with this, and past experience tells me this is nothing to do with Widnes at all.
And don't describe Salford as "victims" either. They got their chance in super league, Widnes didn't. They have pitiful crowds and have not delivered on a stadium either.

| Right lets get one thing straight! Martin Offiah is a Legend of the game and knows more about elite performance than the whole of this board and possibly even Quins!
It's quite amusing that when someone states what is quite obvious regarding the current position of the club they are shot down by your blinkered "we're developing something down here attitude".
The fact is the club is poorly run and seem to lack any strategy for bring in talent or fans to the ground. Quite frankly I've attended quins for some time but mostly find the quality on the pitch to be poor at best and so my decisions to attend are based more around who the opposition are.
With regards to other comments about players being in a good position to learn what is required through getting beat and demoralised each week this is frankly laughable. Success breeds sucess, failure breeds failure.
The assertion also that Quins is good for the game as a whole is quite unbeliveable, if anything in it's current format it's is an anchor around the neck of the RFL. How much coverage does Quins attract, it never seems to be awash with reporters from what I have observed. And do you even hold press conferences?
Dont get me wrong I'd like nothing more to see a sucessful London team but it's a long way off and based upon current form is seemingly going backwards!

remember, a few years back Wigan only just stayed up.......by whatever means.....and now look at them.
Yes we need fans to pay the wages......but we wouldn't be in so bad a state if our owner hadn't bu99ered off to bail you lot out
As PP says...Old trafford 2018....see you there
