Because alot of our best players are leaving, there are reports of Mac going too.
But more worrying is that the rumours of us relocating outside London are getting stronger.
Surely not.........

| You don't really believe that nonsense?
The main reason you got a franchise is because you are a club in london, i don't mean any disrespect but it's the main reason you should get a franchise next time round.
Looking from the outside there seems to be a huge amount of off the field work taken place in youth development and getting kids playing the game in the london area. You have recently seen the first of those making the first team and i would expect there are plenty more to come.
I understand attendancies are an issue that needs to be addressed but i don't see how relocating to somewhere 50 miles away is going to help. That will just mean you have to start all over again, again!
In my oppinion you need stability of name and location and a decent PR man

| I love the Stoop but with no buyer on the horizon DH needs to put the club on a financial footing he can afford until they come or it may influence our franchise bid. If we play somewhere near London and get 4-5,000 we may become self sufficient if we become tenants with a council owned ground. Our lack of attendances and financial state are things we constantly get thrown at us by supporters of clubs who want us out for their own self interests e.g. Widnes

That's just a load of regurgitated speculation. It adds nothing to what we've already heard many times.

Black Backgrounds/Zoot.gif Freedom for supporters of the government, only for members of one party - however numerous they may be - is no freedom at all. freedom is always and exclusively for one who thinks differently.

| This tends to crop up at this stage of the season, but with DH not denying rumours that he wants to cut back his financial invovment plus the player drain I'm wondering if this time there might be some truth in this.

Couldn't agree more.

What about Crusaders relocating from South Wales to the outskirts of the heartlands? A precedent has already been set.

So am I.

Of course there may be some truth in it. Point is that there's absolutely nothing new in this piece of journalistic space-filling. All of this has been speculated about on here for the last couple of months.

1649_1338292262.jpg I have followed the LONDON CLUB since I was in my teensl even though born in St Helens and still live nearby and went to the first game at Fulham, also Big West Ham Supporter:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_1649.jpg |
|
| I was for the name change and returning to The Stoop, we had many great memories, but then we were LONDON BRONCO'S and perhaps more people identified with that name.
We can't carry on as we are, people want to shoot the messenger "The Daily Star" but so much of it is truth, the players we are losing, McDermott, who I still claim is really a good assistant coach and will return north sometime, didn't DH even suggest playing a game outside of London, that was carried in the weekly rugby press just about a month ago.

You're right, we can't carry on as we are, and I too have come to think the current name is unhelpful and we'd be better off as "London", although "Broncos" was always a silly appendage and a lot of people thought it was an American football club.
I see no real reason why another relocation should help unless it's accompanied by significant other benefits that could just as easily occur without us having to move again.
I think Gutterfax sums it up perfectly earlier on the thread:
Quote: jaybs "Move......same shi7 different day.......regardless of where we play or what we are called if you don't market the thing nobody will turn up.
