His 'salary' might be to 'rich' for us.......but would he perhaps be worth it, he has been a good short term signing for his current club but has a bit of a name for being difficult!!

Has a bit of a 'name' forbeing difficult but equally has a real passion for the game. He joined Storm after fall out with coach even th he was in his second year of a Aus$1millon 4 year deal at Eels. The Storm are not renewing as they will have 'cap' problems and anyway two good juniors ready for '10

Unlikley any NRL club will sign him because most have 'cap' problems and their loads of good & cheaper players in his position.

His agent is now looking to SuperLeague or maybe RU in France but would suggest he is worth looking at around £100K or so. Should be good all being well for at least two or three seasons.

Storm seem pretty happy with him at the minute,but no,wouldnt want him at Quins,decent enough,but hes been going backwards last 2-3 seasons.

Good to see Dave that you have finally accepted that Dorn is a good player and we dont need someone to take his place.

Finchy would be a great fit for the Quins. He is still young and has had heaps of experience in playing NRL and Rep matches.

I'd have him, play him at 7, more Orr to 6. As for Dorn, I'm not sure what we'd do with him, but sacrificing a strike player in the halves for a real top notch halve seems like a worthwhile move.

Is Dorn holding the team back?

He's nowhere near as good as Hill, but Orr has played much better with Dorn than he ever did with Hill. And Dorn does score a lot of tries.

What would he add? Now if Orr's neck problem is really serious then Dorn to 7 and Finch at 6 may be worth a look, but depens on cost.

Is he being played in a similar role to Hill? Are we comparing apples against apples or just numbers?

Only when Orr's fit. I still struggle to pin down Dorn's role in the side.

Scoring tries...........Howell and Dorn are 9th and 10th top try scorers in the league with 9 apiece.......which isn`t too shabby when you consider the top scorer only has 13. Chris Melling has scored 6.

Take away Dorn`s contribution and our position in the league might look a whole lot different. He does not have Hill`s creativity, but at least he does not suffer too many knocks and is available every week (unlike Hill).

Matt Gafa had a good season last year with plenty of tries before he was injured, but he is struggling to find form at the moment........IMO I am glad we have Dorn.

Hill missed 6 games last season. Clubb, for example, has missed 3 this season. Being just half way through, imagine he misses 3 more, judging by your standards, we should start bagging him because of his lack of availability?

Orr has missed 3 too. Will we be shipping him out if he misses a few more games?

And i'm guessing we can write off Haggerty, Heckenberg, Robinson, Wells, Wiliamson, Mbu, just to name a few?

Stop being a plonker Dave.......... Dorn rarely missed a game when he played for us previously and he has a similar track record with other SL clubs he has played for. The stats may well say that Hill only missed 6, but I am not so sure he finished all the games he started........because of his talent he was a marked man and I can remember a number of games where he was taken off crocked.

Given your obsession with Hill, you probably know better than I how many games he missed overall in his time with the club. I`d be interested to know how this stacks up with Dorn`s record.

Just to be clear......I did not have a problem with Hill......but you seem to have a problem with Dorn.

Your comments about other players, games missed, my views etc are sheer nonsense............but I notice you did not comment on Dorns try scoring record?

How am I a plonker? One of your points was criticising Hill for not being available every week. I pointed out to you that this is true in the cases of a decent sized proportion of our squad.

And yes I do have a problem with Dorn, like plenty of others do, he's not good enough. One of the reasons he doesn't get injured is probably because he spends most of his time anonymous offering nothing. At least Hill bothered to get involved every so often rather than hiding in the centres and chasing other players when they made a break to score in support.

9 Tries.........Ok it doesn`t make Dorn Darren Lockyer, but nevertheless you cannot fail to see that he is making a positive contribution.

It`s not as though we have a wealth of attacking talent, but Howell and Dorn are equal top try scorers in the club and both in the top ten of scorers in the league.

You are entitled to your opinion. You may not rate him and want to see players with a higher profile..............but we all know we do not have the financial clout to go that route and quite frankly not all of our past `Marquee` signings have been a success.

Let`s take stock at the end of the season and see how Dorn`s try tally compares with others in SL.

Hill is very influential when he was in the Quins side, Clubb has no where near that sort of influence that the team lacked when Hill was not avaliable due to injury.

Hill was in and out the team like a yo-yo, when he was on the field very few players (aside from maybe McLinden and Paul) seemed to know what he was doing and he had the occasional mad moment when he'd try and make a play that was never really on (flashbacks to seeing the ball bouncing slowly along our own 5 metre line after a Hill bullet pass).

I'd like to see minutes played -Dorn v Hill. That would tell a very different story to the “missed 6 games” statistic.

Just look at the results - don't think we've been this high up in the league at this stage of the season in a very long time and we still have our game in hand.

Hill was a great player, but Dorn's overall contribution is significant and valuable.

I think the Hill - Dorn comparison is a such a waste of time when talking about who is the better option for the quins. Hill was in his prime was one of my favourite players, but unfortunately his prime was over before he joined the quins. Hill as far as class goes is hands down a better player than Dorn but I dont think we got enough of that class when he was here.
Dotn this year has scored tries, has try assists and defence has been pretty good, combining well with Danny and is providing a good link to the outside backs
For me the main comparison should be on Orr & Hill Vs Orr & Dorn and in my opinion I think that Orr & Dorn are a much better combination and are better for the team.

As for Finch I am not sure that he would add that much value here especially if he replaced Dorn cause I cant see that he would combine that well with Orr and dont think that we should be wasting a quota spot on someone that is not going to make that much difference. I would like to see us chase a class frontrower or centre as I think that would add much more value
