Who exactly are we going to lose next season?

If we are keeping David Howell and Chad Randall, and Temata and Heckenberg looked really strong yesterday.

Luke Dorn is too important to us and so is Matt Gafa

Who could we get rid of?

It doesn't matter who you think is playing well, you can only 'get rid of' players out of contract. So pick from ....

Maybe none of them will need to go.

Who is out of contract because for me if he is Daniel Heckenberg would have to go because he always seems to get injured a little too much. But I remember him getting an extension not so long ago.

But when he has played this year he has been outstanding!

Hecks has really played well when he has played. He is a damned good prop for us and not just this season. However, he has had some bad injuries and I don't think his contract goes beyond this season. I know we have to lose two but whoever goes is going to be difficult to replace on a quality for quality basis.

I'm not sure that we do have to lose two. I think that if a player was already here before these new regulations were introduced then they don't apply to him.

Nothing to do with the length of his current contract I believe.

I took that to mean 2 overseas players were out of contract anyway and could not be retained. QED

The issue would be where we got adequate replacements - or do we have some players in the academy ready to step up

Hecks will be gone at the end of the season, very good when playing but doesn't play consistently enough to be retained on the quota, which is a real shame as i like him, hes always good to talk to after the match.

If I was to offload two it would be Dorn and Heckenberg. How long are people going to go on defending Dorn? Another terrible performance against Wakefield, you couldn't even call him a flat track bully as when he gets a flat track he's been useless then too.

The feeling I got about the quota players was that 2 quota players need to go, because of rule changes, but it's not a big problem for us because we have enough home grown players to cover them.

If I could keep 6 they would be Dorn, Williamson, Randall, Robinson, Temata and Howell

We may be allowed one more, and I might have forgot a big name, but that's just what I'm thinking at the moment.

Danny Sculthorpe is available at the end of the season (if not before).....he played well on Sunday against us. Could he do a job for us? If he has aspirations about playing for England he may well try to get a club up north, but Brian Mac has already got LMS picked.....

Personally i wouldn't want him, bad attitude imo.
Seems quite injury prone and not generally fit.

He did play 25 SL games in 2008 which is pretty good for a Prop. In 2009 he missed the first 3 rounds, played the next 5 and then missed 2

So all in all has missed 7 games in the last 40 games played by Wakefield

Crikey that would make some of our props basket cases when it comes to injury
