Worst ever name for a rugby league player has to be Nigel Plum, but closely followed by Brent Crisp. So those are the two I'd go for.

Yeah its a bit fantasy like but I would like to see us strengthening the outside backs so David Williams, Sia Soliola or Steve Michaels / Turner, as for utility Dene Halatau or Greg Bird, and Steve Price up front.

Michael Witt leaving the Warriors and League to play for a basement Super 14 team was a strange move. He was cracking last year.
Wasn't George Ndaira the Lebanon scrum-half who excelled in the World Cup qualifiers? If he isn't good enough for the NRL, he might be worth a cheap punt.
As for silly names, you can't beat Yileen Gordon. Come on Yileen, too-ray-aye!

The only ones worth going for would be the marque players looking to really create something in the capital and who would be willing to stick it out for a number of years.
Otherwise we're best off developing our own players

As a matter of interest are we able to sign any overseas player next season. Im completely lost on all these rules which are then revamped etc. and no longer know which of our players are classed as 'overseas'.

Financially the UK is no longer such an attractive proposition and after the players who signed for SL clubs and then were refused entry I think few overseas players will risk signing for SL clubs and then be left high and dry

None of them. Unless there's a monster prop in that list who can rival Graham/Peacock for metres and carries, I'm not interested.

What about Karmichael Hunt, Matt Orford, Dave taylor? All quality players.

Nah, we have Chris Melling, Danny Orr and Gareth Haggerty. We're fine

Haggerty can match Graham, last time at the stoop, (iirc). Haggerty got man of the match for us, everytime he got the ball, he ran directly at Graham, he got the best of him alot of the time too, and everytime Graham was running with the ball, Haggerty wanted to tackle him. Anyone else remember this.
Doesn't Peacock play his best rugby at second row anyway?

One game does not a great player make. Much as I like Haggerty, Graham and Peacock are streets ahead of most other front rowers in super league. To really take our team to the next level we need, IMO, a hard-running offloading prop such as one of those.

Peacock's on the decline and he knows it. it's why he's getting into so many fights these days.

Haggerty is an impact prop, and I was very happy when we signed him (before he signed I suggested going for him to a mate who was a bit sceptical), but as you say he's not in the same league as Graham or Peacock, Graham regularly plays 60 - 70 minutes, even 80 minutes and is effective, Haggerty is a 30 - 40 minute prop (could be worse that fat prop at Wig*n only manages about 15 minutes a game).

He's still one of the best in the league.

I can never see that name written now without recalling "Rabbits" Warren's classic piece of commentary when he accidentally got the H and K of Hunt's name round the wrong way....

Sad to say, that doesn't say too much for the others. Peacock this season is just a shadow of what he used to be. I guess that it has to be down to his frustration at the underachievement of his England squad at last year's WC.
