| There is a long while till Quins' next home game so that gives QRL fans a fair bit of time to help the club.
A lot of you moan about the clubs attendances and how the home fans aren't treated fairly so instead of having a moan (like we do) why don't you get behind [uYOUR[/u team and shut up those moaning from up the M62?
Why not see if you can introduce a new friend to the wonderful sport of Rugby League?
Why doesn't someone buy a drum so the L&L boys & girls can be heard?
A meet-up before the game?
----
These are just a few ideas, feel free to add because I am becoming increasingly annoyed about the negative threads on here.

| I took someone to their first game yesterday and they loved the whole day, he has told some others about what a great day it is and we are going to try to bring some more along to the wakey game, we should at least bring one more with us, plus my brother will be able to make it again so we should have at least 4 compared to our normal 2 and will hopefully add some more to that between now and then.
It was suggested on here "bring a friend" for the catalans game, hopefully some did but still the turnout was not massive, so now we have a few weeks to convince some first timers to come along to the wakey game, so I agree with you BF lets give it a go.

Lots of us have introduced people to RL by bringing mates/family along to Quins. I've brought people to four home matches this season, offering them a first taste of the game.
As for the drum idea - last season either Buck or Dusty had a big bass drum strapped to them - if that's still around we could use that.

Frankly drums are bloody irritating, especially in the hands of people who can't play them properly. I don't see that it adds anything at all.

Well no-one forces you to browse these pages. If you think we're just looking for an excuse for something to moan about you're an idiot. The vast majority of the concerns raised on here are valid and we're all worried about the fact we seem to be losing fans rather than gaining them.
What a ridiculous thread.

500 odd posts and were getting angry already......Oh dear.
Negative threads are here for a reason....because people feel negative about certain things the club do and do not do. As paying customers we are entitled to have a moan if we are not satisfied.
That said, positive threads are always welcome, but I for 1 think a drum would be a terrible addition unless jason bonham is a fan.
If you really want to hear some noise, jump on the Gfax express to Hull.......the "real" away crew are noisy enough, but with us as backing singers, we are very very very loud!

... and that is the modern day sporting problem. We have stopped being a sport (as has football, cricket, Union etc.) and become BIG BUSINESS (well ALL the sports governing bodies like to think they have).
I am not a customer, I am a fan first and foremost. The fact I have to pay to suffer as a FAN is just an unfortunate product becuase the clubs now have to treat the club as a business (and part of the RL / sports industry) with profit, loss, cash flow and all the other bunk that goes with it.
BF was trying to raise some positives, but as is the case those who are positive (and likely in reality to be the majority) get shouted down by the minority - as happens in all aspects of life these days.
Don't get me wrong, some times a good moan is helpful and constructive... but most of the time is just end's up wearing down those on the receiving end - in this case the clubs back office who create mini miracles each week on shoestring budgets.
Win or lose the club turns out a side and we as fans have a choice - support or not to support.
If as a customer you don't like what is being served up you can always get up and leave, never to return.
This is not a dig at you Gutterfax, it is just you used the customer word. I am a customer when I go to the supermarket, I am a fan when I go and shout my head of at the Stoop.
Bl**dy hell it is warm in this office today, off for a lie down!

No he wasn't. He gave some vague suggestion about 'getting behind the team' and some half-hearted suggestions about meeting up before the game and bringing friends along as a way of boosting attendances. In other words, stuff people on here have been doing for years. I notice you do nothing to address the valid concerns of people on here regarding marketing, the seating arrangements and other off-the-field activity. You do little to dissuade people on here from the notion you're a club apologist satisfied with mediocrity.

I have had no problems with sitting in our three season ticket seats - hence no need to complain. Should I find somebody in my seat I will ask them to move, if they get the hump I will seek out a steward. If the steward is un-helpful then I would choose to take it up with the club.
As for marketing, I get plenty of flyers, emails, season ticket information. I am happy with the service provided as it effects me and my family as season ticket holders. So again I have no need to complain.
I am happy with the general game day package offered. My daughter can get her face painted, I get a programme and read it. Go to the loo, buy some chips etc. so again no complaints and no moans.
I get through when I have called the club without being on hold for longer than I find intolerable. If it is busy I call back. So again I have no complaints.
I always find somewhere to park, so no issue there.
However, what does get up my nose is a lack of media coverage. But then that effects every club, some more than others. but how moaning on here can help I don't know. Only the club and the RL can really address that one - but a good starting point would be more NATIONAL TERRESTRIAL TV coverage. S no point loosing sleep over that big issue.
The only thing that has an effect on me is waiting 5 to 10 minutes on game day to get a beer. wait on, I better start a whinge thread on that to allow you and your moronic brain something to do.
As I have nothing to apologise for how can I be an apologist? why being content in life does it make me an apologist? BF asking for us to "gert behind the team" is positive, that is waht we as fans should do.
Getting things changed for the better in any walk of life takes time and no little diplomacy. something you young man lack! Hence nothing you contribute will effect any amount of change - except to may be get peoples backs up, which you clearly love!
If Brian clough where still around your the type he'd give clip round the ear to!

| Seriously, I am all for getting behind the team and making some noise, but let's face it, we are generally a quiet bunch of supporters (at home anyway) and nowhere near as tribal as some of our northern cousins.
I have posted elsewhere about trying to grow the L&L section next year, but even our friends from HKR were steered by only a dozen or so boistrous bunch at the top right hand of the North on Sunday.
The plusses this year are that there is a targeted campaign to get more families to the stoop and other stuff going on that is a step in the right direction. I am never one to shoot down a positive post...I just point out where I believe the club could do better and always suggest solutions. I don't bitch for the sake of it...I try to be objective, which let's face it, isn't always easy.
As for the back office staff, they do a great job on a shoestring....but there's another problem...the shoestring
Chicken and Egg scenario......more fans = more money for the back office staff........but without the back office staff (marketing) no extra fans.

Agreed.
On the subject of sticking the HKR fans in the North Stand. what happend in our first quins season against Cas? they made so much noise it was like a home game to them and they won.
I posted on here a call to close the stand to away fans, the club did just that.
May be and I know I am in for a lot of stick here ... but why not put L&L under the north stand? The noise would be amazing.
just a thought.

No I am not happy with 2000. however it is 1500 more than used to watch us as fulham as chiswick poly.
no it is not good enough, but it is not for me to drag in the masses it is the club. but with little funds what can they do? come on, show me your big plan?
No, thought not because you are in the same boat as me. The boat marked "we want the club to grow", the difference is I don't want to bore the other sin the boat to death with constant put downs.
Bottom line is we need sugar Daddy. We had one, he chucked us over for the Pies. We need to get over it and move on.
Accept there are two trophys to play for. Unless Saints or Leeds suddenly go down the toilet the other 12 clubs are just playing for a place on the ladder - and that is where I think the GAME has a major problem, which prevents clubs growing.
Union has the EDF, Anglo Saxon soething or other, first past the post, grand final, six nations, world cup, winter internationals - lots of chances to promote itself. RL does not.
Until the RFL get the game on a more world wide footing we shall remain as we are, sorry but that is the truth and has been the case since 1995!
News Corp and Rupert M realised RU had more world wide appeal, but could not get them to turn professional, so he offered the RFL and dope Maurice a large some of money to turn over the Aussies and on them - he truely delivered.
The RFU realised it was sink or swim and decided to swim, turn Pro and build the international game - dull as it is.
Off thread I know, but our crowds are but one part of a much bigger sport wide issue - recognition. not a think in the Express this week, very last page of the sport section in the Sun Monday down south- need I say more!

| Not a bad idea at all....just I doubt it would catch on.
I remember at GP a few people managed to get the wendy house (Brook road terrace) open for a few games and we had about 200 odd in there.....Cracking atmosphere when we drew with Leeds ..but the club have to make ends meet at the moment and we can't have it both ways.
I still believe that if policed properly, sticking away fans in the AA and AB sections for lower attended games and in the North for bigger games is the right way for now. AA and AB hold about 400 each...so sell AC to Quins fans to buffer the ST holders from the away lot.....and ensure that the ticket office KNOW WHERE TO SELL TICKETS FOR THE AWAY FANS.
Maybe....and only maybe, when we open the North for Bigger games we could also open the south for Loyal and Loud????? As I don't sit with L&L unless it's a free for all like Catalans, I can't comment on what they would prefer.

All workable solutions. Bottom line is we need a low roof!
Back in 1997 the locals complained about the noise, so much so that at the Canbera game (I think) they had a bloke from the council with a noise meter and the ground announcer (who may have been chris W) at the time had to ask us to be a little less vocal - which of course we complied with... NOT!
Oh, for those days again.

| I can`t believe the suggestions that L&L should be moved to either the North or South stands!!
I sit in this section and contribute to the noise/singing at home or away, the reason for consolidating a L&L group was to beef up the noise in general and hopefully encourage other fans close by to join in.......but the latter is a bit hit and miss, as it tends to depend on whether or not we are winning.
So for shouting myself ho every week and paying a good season ticket price, my reward is to go and sit behind the sticks and have a cr@p view........what a ridiculous idea. Just a shot in the dark......perhaps an alternative idea would be for those fans that can`t be bothered to cheer, to get off their lazy backsides and join in with encouraging the team....or even better, perhaps they can all buy drums and 5od off to the north and south stands......just a thought.

Agreed. Any more 'vocal' section needs to be in the more populous main stand. Otherwise it would just look like a minority of nutters shunted away to avoid inconviniencing others.

So when Wakefield or Cas next bring the noise brigade, or the Whino's south standers let's stick em' in the north stand and let them turn the roof in to a giant amp and make it like THEIR home ground!

The east stand is our stand. Lets concentrate on that. I don't give two hoots about away fans, so long as the majority are in the north stand and we're able to have our own stand - you know, like all other clubs do.
