I've just tried the Eurorail site and the 'cheapest' round trip for Friday out

It does not matter which route you go via Lille or Paris. Also note that you can not book Eurostar more than 90 days in advance.... that is based on return date. You can book 120 days in advance but only for TGV stage.

'Paddy Air' should be still cheaper but only if you travel with 'onboard' bag and get your 'boarding card' in advance. Tricky lot and they need watching!
