Quote: Ronniequin "People talk about defining moments in a season. I know Chad was distraught after the game, indeed I tried to console hime as he overall had an absolute blinder. However I can't help wondering that if we had held on against Wigan, then we go 2 from 2 with out of sorts Salford and Warrington to follow when we have real momentum. However after that shock to the system, Salford now becomes a difficult game, and Warrington can turn their season round at any time. 4 from 4 suddenly means we are flying and serious contenders, 2 from 4 is ordinary.
Wigan on the other hand go 4-0 with Leeds and Bradford to follow. Now I feel they may get something from those games, and instead of 6-0, will probably go 4-2.
The pass that changed 2 seasons.'"
I agree that winning on Saturday may have made a big difference to Wigan as they were dreadful in the first half and a fourth consecutive defeat would surely have left them even less confident for the next game, but it's only one loss for ourselves and I don't see that it will make much difference.
We lost the same fixture at the start of last season, conceding thirty or so unanswered points in the final quarter after leading well into the second half, then won our next four on the spin.
