Just a thought which admittedly isnt a polished proposal but i thought it could be something worth discussing.
Quins RL Fans have many many things going in their favour but do not seem to be embracing the game apart from a select few hardcore devoted fans.
Which got me thinking about novel ideas to provide a catalyst to bolstering numbers.
As i said, this is just the seed being planted and not the harvest of the fruit.
Looking at the fan base, would it not be wise to set up something along the lines of crickets Barmy Army, but in a Quins RL incarnation.

As far as im aware there is no other 'independent' supporters club in RL.
The cricketting Barmy Army were based on a small hardcore group of fans to make their existence as pleasurable for them and others.
Personally the idea of setting something up like this sounds fun, is 'different' and has solid goals and methods.
NOTE: im not saying it becomes the Barmy Army for RL, just the ethos and its development could be a useful blue print to help the Quins cause.
Just a thought. Im prepared to hear ideas, im prepared to have ideas shot down - but something is better than nothing. This could enhance and galvanise the passion already there, or it could be seen as a idea. But discussion is better than not!

Isnt Loyal and Loud a club initiative rather than an independent initiative?
Also, as a newcomer, who would i contact about Loyal and Loud about becoming a member? What benefits do i get etc? What do they do to attract new members?

Sort of. It was pushed for by people on here. I can't see any benefits of another initiative, independent or not. I don't think creating further cliques is the way forward and IMO they would be counter productive. |

How would this galvanise support?
There is already one umbrella group, supporting the only top class professional RL team in the South. I don't see the point of an independent voice at the moment, can't see it offering anything. If anyone has an opinion, they e-mail or phone the club, who listen. Don't see the point of having some sort of group to hide behind. |

I didn't say cliques exist, there is already the Loyal and Loud which is a bit of fun and fine. The club needs everyone supporting them as 1 body, I honestly see no point of an indepdent group, and you have provided no benefits at all.
You know, go to the game, try and initiate a conversation with the person next to you. Its not difficult. You said you've been to loads of games before, so why are you now claiming to "start following Quins"? |

There is 1 clique. Another would create a number of cliques. 2 cliques.
So you come up with a suggestion and offer no benefits? Great, i'm sure people are really going to come out in force in support of this marvelous idea. |

Mr EFH...there are some on these boards and now elsewhere, who have given too much to the club. Tales of remortgages, financial assistance and subsequent rebuttal from Quins are so much in abundance, that whilst your idea is positive and to be applauded, it is a little naive (sic). I find it hard to swallow that the volunteers collected names at the gate on Sunday, the organiser of the volunteers will/has been data entering this info and the volunteers were the ones putting up posters, handing out flyers and organising/pressing for the jesters lunch. PROFESSIONAL Rugby, maybe, but only on the pitch as far as QRL is concerned 
Independent supporters groups have been suggested before and I for 1 have also suggested a brainstorming/thought shower session between those who have ideas and the club....but to no avail (yet).
This post is not designed to remove wind from your sails....simply prepare you for the storms ahead 
Bottom line is that if everyone submitted 1 idea, I am sure we could build 1 successful campaign from bits of each one.... |

It was a suggestion.
Simple as. I didnt say it was a polished proposal with every box ticked.
It was a seed of an idea which might be something, or might be a non-starter.
It was the start of a brainstorm. The seed.
You might do such things at uni.
Where someone starts something, it morphs, changes, somethings are dismissed, others discussed, some are adopted and some modified.
Thats how 100% of ideas start.
I offered the Barmy Army as a blue print!
This is a Discussion Forum - therefore i discussed this in the Forum!
I dont want people to support this marvellous idea, i want people to take create their own using a seed!
