Rumours are that Penny returned to Wire amid pending rumours that hes going to be transfered to Wakey. If true then thats a big shame as it sure looks like we didnt have the money for him to get transfered here.

Even bigger shame as i understand he liked it down here in London as well as enjoying himself playing for Quins.

I must admit I enjoyed watching Penny playing for the Quins- He had effervescence. His defence against Cas at times was woeful- But there are 2 side to the coin. He asked questions of the opposition thats for sure.

Is Penny Macs type of player?- Mac to me is the grinder both in defence and attack- Im not sure he wants players who dont sing to his tune ie Mclinden etc in that they have the X factor- in Pennys case speed and yellow boots!

I don't think Penny is irreplaceable. I very much enjoyed watching him too, but let's not lose sight of the fact he was only a winger, and a winger does not make a team.

I agree -wings are where injured players go for a rest in an amateur team!!

He added a bit a speed and "just something else" which we haven't had for a year or two

I'll miss Kevin Penny, personally I'd have loved his to stay, but I think realistically we knew that financially it was never going to happen.
