only one relatively minor point still waiting to be ironed out - that sounds promising.
Mackay reference and severance package?

Is this a fresh start or merely delaying the inevitable?'"
Im not bothered about Longy as long he teaches them systems on how to attack the line. We've overlooked loads of good players over the years because of 'offield' issues and where has it got us. 'Fair play awards'. We are fighting for our survival and Longy has proved he can coach. TR hasnt imo.
TR as ceo is probably for the 1st year when DH is the owner and who pays his wages. After that a proper CEO will be appointed. Maybe that women at the RFL who everyone raves about?

| Sorry, but if the purse strings are still held by the same people how the does anyone expect anything to change? We have moved and failed 4 times and now (if reports are correct) we are moving into a ground that the immediate residents resent and therefore will have to work extremely hard to get any "local" buy in with regard to new fans.
I pray that either Ian Lenagan or even the RFL have a stake in the "new" beginning because I fear that 2014 will be done on a budget and for the last 18 years the first thing to get overlooked is the marketing and promotion.
The last time I heard anything about DH continuing with investment was that it would be at a "reduced level" so I sincerely hope that he has a partner who understands that sticking posts on the ground isn't a marketing policy.
Hate to come across all negative, but I really see little to be happy about in this "story" regarding the hive, loan players and Sean long being our head coach. Anyone remember the hope and expectation when we were heading into the 2006 season? Compare it to now and tell me how the current situation is anything other than a ing fiasco!

Well, it looks like Gus is finally going to be shunted aside.
Or are you secretly going to miss him?

Makes no odds to me one way or the other. The bloke in charge will still be the bloke in charge and he hasn't a ing clue how to run a business

Hughes is only in charge of the purse strings.
If Long can keep his nose clean long enough (big if admittedly) then things might even start to pick up.

Unless they've started accepting goodwill as payment for marketing services, then that's exactly what I am concerned about. Since 2008 he's ed 10 million+ up the wall and refuses to take any advice from anyone.

| 11 players though - thats news. About time there was something positive. They are going to struggle for fitness though given most clubs are weeks into their preparation.

Every season we are told theyve had a good pre season and we've played like unfit strangers. Maybe this way will turn out better?

| Wigan have the most professional set up in Rugby League. Long was tried there in a coaching role and found unsuitable. What sort of recommendation is that?
Hang on, London Broncos is the biggest joke in Professional sport....now I see how it fits....

| Here we go again. "Broncos back from the brink." almost. No sign of Branson's or any other multi-millionaire's money again so we just have to put up with it or go elsewhere. After all the months of uncertainty, this looks like the least worst way out.
I'm confident that Long can coach rugby but whether he can manage a club's complete playing staff is another matter. And, as others have said, TR hardly covered himself in glory as CEO before. But he is older, more experienced, and hopefully wiser now. And he does have a RL background and contacts that were woefully absent from the present incumbent.
On a personal note, Barnet is pretty much of a no-no for me because of travel issues. Let's hope it's good for plenty. though.
