Well look how Few Saints fans were willing to travel to Widnes, never more than 6,000 for a full season and it is only 10 miles? I have hated some of the grounds we have played on over the years none more so than Crystal Palace National Sports Centre! but the problem in London is land costs to have you own stadium were you are in full control of your destiny, but getting the right area is such a problem!

'Never more than 6,000' even though they averaged well over 7,000? Check your statistics before making a fool of yourself.

| Frog and Toad on Burnt Oak Terrace is a decent pub to the North of Gillingham station, and is probably over a mile from the ground. Not really suitable if anyone requires access though.
Rochester is part of Medway, two rail stops from Gillingham. Plenty of decent pubs either just by the Castle and Cathedral (Kings Head, Coopers Arms, George Vaults) or even a couple along the High Street towards Chatham. A few good restaurants in Rochester as well and plenty of Charles Dickens history. About 8 trains an hour between the two stations and £2.50 for a single.
As for nightlife generally not so sure. A night club in Strood (Passions) but lord only knows what it's like.
Chatham, well possibly a source of the term Chav, but does have a few historical attractions (Dockyard, Dickens Museum, Royal Engineers Museum, Fort Amherst, Outlet centre) and there are a few good pubs if you know where to look.

Really? How does it compare to say, somewhere like Twickenham or Richmond for things to do, bars to visit and places to stay?

| There is probably more to do in Medway than Twickenham to be honest.

Before you make a fool or yourself! some Widnes supporters also went to games and then the away supporters, the 7,000 was not all Saints fans however you may wish it may have been!

We are talking about the guy visiting Gillingham for one match not to live his life there, which some people may do happily! everything is not a crisis!

Oh, yeah I'm sure 1000 Widnes fans packed into the Saints stands all season long. Get real. I didn't see a Widnes shirt for the whole season, except the first game against Wire.
Whether you like it or not, 7k Saints fans travelled to a rival town to watch their team each week. 5k more than turn up at London Broncos home games in London.

If you want to believe 7,000 Saints fans travelled to a rival town, good on you! as long as it keeps you happy.
7K Saints fan, so not one away supporter, only one person from Widnes, as he wore a Widnes shirt! the land of make believe

10,514 v Warrington
6,050 v Harlequins (no away support)
7,676 v Bradford (less than 1k away support)
7,740 v Hull KR (less than 1k away support)
7,003 v Wakefield (freezing Friday night TV game, tiny away support)
8,010 v Cas (500ish away support)
6,752 v Crusaders (200ish away support + unattractive game)
9,062 v Leeds
11,540 v Wigan
7,053 v Hull (500ish away support)
7,076 v Catalans (no away support)
6,421 v Hudds (few hundred away support, TV game)
7,377 v Salford (few hundred away support)
So much for 'less than 6,000 travelled to Widnes'

So much for 'less than 6,000 travelled to Widnes''" Interesting. Looking at that teams playing London at home attract more away support that went to Saints games in Widnes. How do you know what the away support was anyway? Oh.... and I was at the Q***s game so a London support of one

Didn't you read that he only saw one person wearing a Widnes jersey! and I presume no one wore the away team that was visiting them, it was a failure of a season and one that knocked the club financially back, otherwise such as the cladding would have been done well before now on the ground!
