Calderwood must be glad he did not play. There are no more excuses and changes need to be made in personnel.

| So the inclusion of one player like Calderwood means that the entire team would stop dropping the ball, giving away penalties etc. as described???
We're losing, the coach gets it in the neck as the buck stops with him. When players are playing poor or not doing what they're told, the buck also stops with him.

It is not the inclusion of one player that is the issue but what is reflected in your second statement. Why when a team is struggling do we still keep getting basically the same 17 players each week? As you say comes down to the coach.

| What did folks expect from Powell he is a young untested coach ? We over achieved at the start of the season but are now under achieving. The appointment was always a risk but the senior players who supported him getting the job should be digging deep for him now.

I was thinking about this last night-I think what we could consider is a director of rugby who overseas all rugby matters including the first team and the youth development and brings it all together.
Maybe this guy

Or bring Nobby on 3 days a week to support the coaching team etc

| Quote Rea, a former North Sydney Bears hooker, made his name in the UK as a player, coach and then administrator at the London Broncos.
'"
Wrong.
Quote ''He's a zero self-promoter but is one of the most adored coaches, commentators and thinkers in English rugby league,'' a source said.
''There's not a single club that wouldn't give their eye teeth to have him back.'"
What a load of tosh, written by a Union scribe who knows nowt about league,

Yes: he was chief exec. before he was a coach (with a spell of doing both at the same time IIRC).
Do agree with the idea of an experienced director of rugby or adviser though, to help Powell out. TR or Nobby would probably be fine. But who's going to pay for him?

| Give Rob Powell at least until the end of the season. it was always going to be a peak and troughs season for Quins. I'm sure given time things will improve for Rob Powell and the Quins.
