| As long as that 66% have all their injuries in the first half of the season while Cakeman is trying to mould the team (men & boys) into a cohesive unit, we might be ok as we are very much a 2nd half of the season team.

I wondered a bit about that as well. Sid has been good. Clearly able to do a job for us in Championship but he’s missed quite a few games over last few seasons. I suspect we won’t be able to carry many, if any, injuries before we get into parks players. Anyway encouraging that someone thought we had a future.

| To give some perspective I see our player of the year Jones has gone to Doncaster. Fair to say things are getting real.

Perhaps he likes horse racing?
Having been there once, i don't think wild horses would drag me back.

Good luck to Doncaster is what I say, never been there myself but I like the way a few diehards kept their Rlfans page going so it’s nice they are g experiencing a bit of an upturn in fortunes, however, it’s a surprise move and the fact we can’t compete with Donny is suggestive of the new Broncos giving out Skolars vibes. Hope something materialises soon or we’re looking at a repeat of 2022.
In other news my sources suggest a well known businessman and RL enthusiast may be considering a book on his experiences. Titles under consideration include ‘My way and what I’ll do if I don’t get it’. ‘Running a club (into the ground)’ and ‘watch out for low flying toys’.

Well from the first title it could be Roman Abramovic, the 2nd it could be Ernie Clay but fortunately he's brown bread but from the 3rd it can only be one maniac!
I suppose we could follow our success in dismantling Skolars by doing the same to Hills Hoists or Wests but I'd like to think Cake is above that.

| Didn't we used to train in Golborne? Maybe we should try that again.
It's a district of Wigan for those that don't know. (Bongser would probably classify it as Leigh.)

Deffo more Leigh than Wigan. You may well be right Benny as I do remember Reggie had them running around Haydock Park race course back in the day. But training there & coming down to just to play at the Cottage started to unravel if I remember correctly & players like John Wood & Dave Hull started to not appear. We never did get the best out of Wood sadly.

You could well be right. The borders are very hazy and debatable...
Still, damn me for moving south, and damn Mark Riley (and Sam Stewart and Mark Johnson etc.) for getting me invested in this club when I'd initially just turned up to watch a live RL game with my new "local" club as a neutral.
If I'd loved my home town more than rugby league, I'd still be supporting a successful side. (A successful side I've actively disliked since about 1994.)
Like I said, more fool me!

I once went there to watch Doncaster v London Welsh in an RU game.
Dean Sampson turned up.
