If this is true Id sign him like a shot before any other SL club comes sniffing around. One problem is he might be on a decent contract at Wire and DH may not want to pay it but the numbers he would put on the gate alone would be worth it.
I hope the loan is done on the basis of we have agreed a deal subject to being happy after his 1 month loan spell.
I Wonder if I should get that loft conversion done now. Im sure a young couple and a nipper could fit in

More than a lucky charm. The team has learned to use the first winger we've had in some time with genuine pace. And it was his break from deep in our half that set up the try from Chad Randall that turned the game back in our favour.

You seem to have an embarassment of riches up there. Why not let him sdtay here?

not for us (yet) and i dont think it be long before he does. Now we out of the CC he can get a regular run and not have to drop out every other game because of being cup tried.



He has done long range trys for Wire, and i think one of them was 90m plus.

There was a couple of occasions in the second half that me and Snoopy wondered why we didnt kick from the base of srum or on first tackle as the Cas FB wasnt in postion but well up in the line of defence and leaving an open field for Penny to run into.

Looked like he might have been about to with one of his runs in the 2nd half yesterday, didn't quite make it in the end.

He could have done it from that run but decided to look for support instead of beating McGoldrick which he would have done easily with the space he had to work with.

Yes, maybe he's lacking a bit of confidence.

He never lacked any confidence taking on fullbacks at wire.
He made Chris Ashton look a fool once when he could have passed to two or three supporting players

I think it's a little harsh, McGoldrick did well in that he ushered him to take the line another Cas defender was coming in on, once he did that I think it put Penny in two minds, it's possible he could have beat McGoldrick, but all it needed was to slow him down and he'd have been caught. In the end he didn't panic, which is a big positive given how prone we are to doing that at times.

Yes, from the same set, so maybe he did the right thing.

It's easy from up in the stand but I would have liked to see him take on the f-b. he did eventually but only after a bit of hesitation that resulted in the winger catching. No complaint from me though.

So then what's the general Quins consensus on Penny ?

A. He's been a breath of fresh air and I believe enjoying playing SL again.

B. If Warrington don't want him, he wants to move darn sarf and the cash to complete a deal is available, He'd more than a welcome addition at The Stoop.

C. Will B happen? We'll have to wait and see.

Seems like his arrival has either given the team a shot in the arm or has at least co-incided with some improved form. We've got him for a 2nd month and if he carries on as he has been I'd really like to see us keep him on. An example of a player loan that works!

He has been the spark that has ignighted our season. The rest of the team know we have a class strike player on the pitch who can turn the game on his own. They know now we can score tries against anyone and are obviously using set plays to get the best out of him. The confidence in the team as a result is there for all to see. If we go behind they know we have players who can get us back into it so they keep keep going instead of giving up. I hope we get to see BJB play at FB with Penny on the wing. That will be something to see!

When does Penny's loan deal expire with you guys?

It is a monthly contract extended by both clubs if wanted by Quins/wire or Penny.
