I see resident bad boy, thug and all round low life (according to most fans) tormented Londons defence today?

I suppose that's what a happy Gareth Hock brings to your team.

Quality games bring out the bast in quality players.

Hock, Moi Moi, Weston devastating - we had no answer.

But, I feel Cobb had a poor game and whilst not influencing the result, influenced the flow and general theme and tempo, biased might be unfair as he comes from Leigh but influential.

Hope you don't mind me dragging up an old quote Micky B but I feel today really showed the best of Gareth Hock.

Don't think he gave away a single penalty and was absolutely devastating with the ball in his hands.

I get as frustrated with Hock as anybody does (barring maybe the coach!) when he does something silly but there is no denying the lad has got talent by the bucket load.

He could/should have been the greatest British back rower of his generation but for a number of reasons (a lot of them self inflicted) he never reached those heights.

But he is still a quality player and has been a positive signing for Leigh and, whilst being far from angelic, has actually tidied his act up quite a bit in his time with us.

Best of luck to London for the rest of the season, although hopefully you won't catch us for top spot now! icon_wink.gif

Having had a chance to reflect on the game today, I feel it was a case of "Men against Boys".
We have come a long way this season but against todays opposition I think it shows we are still a work in progress.
I am really pleased at the players who have committed to the club on 2 year contracts who see a good future for the Broncos & after todays disappointing performance can only hope we can bounce back against Dewsbury next week.

Agree with you, you only have to look at the experience of the Leigh side. I said last week that we needed a test as we have been racking up some comfortable wins without breaking sweat. So we now know what we will be up against if ( hopefully) we make the 8s.
Back on the horse straight away lads, put in a good week's training and let's get the two points at Dewsbury next week!

Nozzy, I was not knocking the bloke, his style of play is his style of play, it was others that were saying he should not be playing and was a disgrace. You notice I said "when he trangresses" the club manage it, never said that's what he always did.
Missed the game today so can't really comment. I think the league will finish Leigh top again with us in second, depends if Leigh implode during 8s again, I would be extremely surprised if we can pull off a win against any of the super league teams so 5th place and million pound game is possibly our best finish.
As for Mr Cobbled, funny we have had very few complaints when we have been winning

Apologies for not being clearer. I was using todays performance to back up your positive post on Hock. I appreciated your more level headed opinion on him and felt today justified what you were saying and what the majority of Leythers believe. That Gaz Hock is a volatile player who frustrates people (on both sides!) but that his talent usually outweighs the negatives that he brings to a club.

When he keeps his head down and just plays rugby as he did today he is a joy to watch and it is clear to see that he is far too good to be playing at this level. Although I accept that he only has himself to blame in terms of WHY he is playing at this level!

See you in the 8's! Hopefully at the LSV if we can keep hold of that top spot!

I missed the game, but appears we were well beaten. So back to training, make sure we finish second and take it from there, Bradford losing helps! Well done to Leigh, sounds like an impressive performance.

Disappointing but in the championship some experienced players can make a big difference, we just need to get back to winning ways to keep the second spot.

As for the game, London met the Leigh forwards in top gear and not many Championship sides this season have lived with them when they're in full flow.

Credit to the Broncos, they have a good team, had an excellent season, will take from this game and come back stronger.

See you in the 8's...

Most disappointing aspect was the softness of some of the tries. Thought the pack was steamrollered which was disappointing. Leighton have recruited from Super League, Broncos largely from the Championship. Discuss......
