Keyes, Foran and Farrar will be targeted in defence. I don't see a way to have all 3 on the pitch at the same time, especially not 2 of them defending together. Waiting to see the highlights but I'd like to see Garside at left centre in place of Farrar who is shot as a physical presence and just shoots out of the line looking for intercepts instead of contact.

On the positive side, we do have a good squad and combinations will take time. Having Riley (injured) and Dollapi (late withdrawal?) on the bench would stiffen things up. Nor is defeat away at Dewsbury (an improving mid-table side) a disgrace. But 34-6 is.

Ok, let me make this simple for you as you are obviously struggling. I am unable to make any sensible contributions to this debate after a sorry defeat to Dewsbury. Having been to the game (please note), there was little to cheer about but not enough to make me think it is a hopeless case. So, my view, is lets see how the first month of the season goes. I know your approach on this board is to fire loads of negatives around up front in the likely event several will come true and you can be the 'big I am' - its a shame when they dont come off you cant be gracious enough to admit it.

As for JG, he's is passionate, so why should he not look upset. By the same token he's not as soft as made out, bear in mind he fired two players before the end of last season. He wont suffer underachievement.

I'm not making excuses for what was a poor performance - Dewsbury were better on the day.
The Rams played dry weather football creating a ton of space out wide whilst we looked to be compressing the middle anticipating a wet weather "up the jumper" affair, and we didn't really adjust.
The disappointing bit - apart from losing 34-6 obviously - was our lack of teeth in attack, we had a couple of chances but not many.
Dewsbury finished 5th last year, and they showed why. Properly a wake up call.
On the positive side, we've two weeks to address our play, it was only £10 to get in, and San Miguel was £3.50.

We'll see how Joey's skills are in the next couple of weeks. He needs a fair crack with the team he's put together before he's judged - he's been assistant in three NRL clubs so he can't be that bad, and Tony Rea must have been happy with him as assistant, so not only David Hughes decision/recommendation.

I think this is a very good point. Farrar looks so small, anyone with any size just seems to run through him, foran looks too slow, and people waltz past him, Keyes, to young and lacks weight. if we play all three then we need to have a good plan to provide cover.
