Voted the worst place to live by people who have never lived there?

Exactly!!

People who live hear that are not from the city tend to love it up here.

I remember when the guys from location location location did that worst city program. They showed a dog turd on the pavement for Hull to emphasise how bad it was! You could probably find one outside the gates of Buckingham Palace too!!

Part of the reasoning was that education wasnt too good (though is improving) but people fail to mention that places such as Beverley, Cottingham etc are excluded from being under the Hull umbrella despite having HU postcodes because they are covered by the East Riding Council.

When I lived there in the early 90s the shopping centre was a filthy. The streets were filthy. Coming home at night walking from the station to home was the only time of living in London that I ever felt unsafe. Gangs roaming the streets. Very little green space, though this could be because of your superior neighbours in Blackheath and Greenwich.
Much of the housing was run down.

Now it may well have changed, but that was my experience and quite frankly that will always be how I remember it. I have driven through it on many occassions since and have seen changes around the railway station / shopping area, but I never want to return and see if it has changed for the better or if its just cosmetic.

I am sure you will tell me differently, but I couldn't wait to get out. Sorry

As a Hull Uni student (who also plays for the rugby team, but not the 1sts) I would be suprised if its not a full degree course which is at least 3 years. I was under the impression he had actually left Quins and signed for Hull but guess I was wrong. 3 years is a long time to loan someone though. I can certainly see us wanting to keep him and paying some sort of fee though in the not too distant future

But like most students these days it`s probably a degree in `tourism` or ` the performing arts`..........he will have completed the course in a couple of weeks and be back playing for the Quins
