| Dutch approach is fine until they get to the point where they realise a vaccine is not guaranteed.

| The other main RL site is reporting that it is believed the Championship and League One sides will discuss voiding the season at a meeting this week. It reports growing support for the idea, though some remain keen to try and play on.

| Would put money on the season for both competitions going that way. Without fans there is no incentive for many to get going again, it will cost them too much.
What happens then to the full time squads in the leagues is the question.

| You are quite right NB. Clubs that have full-time teams should the season non restart are in a very difficult position. I would assume they would look to the RFL for compensation.

| Sadly I fear at least some teams will have little option but to make players redundant, on the grounds their role is redundant, if the season is abandoned.
Given the state of the RFL's finances I can't see them picking up the wage bill for several professional clubs, and probably rightly so sadly
The semi pro clubs who have players under contract, probably most players at this level but less so one division down, would also be after support if the RFL subsidises the pro clubs

| It's an interesting one, furlough been extended to September, so technically as they cannot resume there business full time clubs could continue claiming furlough until then, whatever form that takes. Part time clubs can't do that with there players.

| It is my opinion that we have seen the last of the Broncos this season. Financially for most Championship Clubs it will be too risky financially for them to end its employees furlough before the scheme ends in September. By then it will be too late to save the2020 season.
If we are to get any RL at all this year, it will be Super League and games will be played behind closed doors. This will be at the behest of Sky TV, just to give them some content through the summer.
i would expect the club to be planning for season 2021.

| Reckon you are right bosty
Although with proposed changes to furlough being muted full time clubs in championship face interesting challenges. Wonder what shape they will be in next season

Employers will be required to pay 25% of wage until October when the season will just about be over. A lot better than having to pay100% of wages.

| Absolutely right Wantawin. It would make no sense to take the players off of furlough. Even if the club had to pay 25% of the wages.

| Latest thing with furlough creates an interesting dynamic, full time clubs will have to start paying 20% of salaries, puts the part time clubs in a slightly better position than likes of us and leigh if there is no resumption this season.
Into June nearly with novreal hint of SL start date, looking more likely in my view that champ clubs down will not want to play at all if behind closed doors

| Like you NB, I cannot see Championship rugby being played behind closed doors being viable. The additional measures needed to be put in place for things, such as player welfare, will have a significant cost. It will be too much.
