| Like others I went along to my first Broncos match on the Saturday. I have only fully cottoned on recently how immersive and great RL is, helped in large part due to the world cup. I'm now not content to simply watch the odd game or two on the telly.
I decided recently that I would prioritise the skolars, because they seem more sustainable, and less likely to dissapoint, but have to say really impressed with Saturday. The setup looks good, friendly people and I don't think the team will be the whipping boys I and other had expected. Definitely will return.
I just think RL doesn't get the adulation it deserves and a struggling club in a pretty much foreign environment isn't exactly an easy sell. But that said someone somewhere has to look at kids, families, group bookings etc. building a match day spectacle.

I think Bradford did this years ago. could be wrong though.

| Jewish Care run a few care homes in NW London not far away. These are for theelderly and also younger people with disabilities. If I were the club I'd contact Jewish Care and offer all their residents and a care worker family member a free day out at a match (I guess a Sunday may be better). It would boost the crowd and cost nothing (except time although it would be nice to put coaches on if they have insufficient mini-buses - or even better try to get a local coach company to donate the transport) whilst we're greatly undercapacity. The publicity would be worth a fortune - locally, nationally, among the Jewish community - which is pretty big in the surrounding areas - and I guess loyal. I also think there is a chance of something very positive coming out of such an initiative. Would have to be done properly though - maybe exclusive use of one of the bar areas, meeters and greeters and people to look after the guests throughout the afternoon. Give people a day to remember and I'm sure good would come of it. Would need some thought as to the needs of the residents and whether they could be catered for.

Phil Clarke and probably some others went to USA with this mission before the start of SL. I think he/they just looked at "football".

Great idea Dally. Something to get the Jewish, Asian, Romanian,Polish,Afican and West Indian local Community involved would be great.

On the back of something like the above, invite local charities for the disabled / disadvantage to choose a match to attend. Over the season the club could build up alot of local goodwill and be seen as a community club and a local asset. Little cost involved. Do it well and it could just generate alot of positive publicity (via the charities and local press - ideally with a plug in each article showing next match date, time and venue!), lots of goodwill, potential supporters, potential sponsors, etc. Even if it does none of those things surely good deeds are their own reward?
PS Could even have bucket collections so spectators could make donations to fund a buffet lunch / half time snack for invitees? Create a good, all round feel around the club.

Some quality ideas Dally. It's this positive Community links which will hold us in good stead, even the facetious going for a sarny in the area by the players. Getting more and more involved like this will be great.
Any chance you could email these ideas to info@londonbroncosrl.com

I am sure that someone connected with the club must read these pages, pathetic as most pages are! They have paid people to think of ideas - I'm sure if they wanted to do something like this they'd have done so before. to me though, the big problem with London Broncos in their various guises over the years is they have not engaged the local community. To me that's what needs to be worked on. It's much harder without your own ground and club facilities but these sort of initatives or similar could perhaps be a way? Like everything though things need to be done well and followed through and up.

True true. Hopefully we will see some great links with the local Community.

Already e-mailed the Hive asking if they can do multiple TV feeds into the bars.

It's nothing of the sort. Advertising the fact that sports are being shown in the bar before and after the game as a way of enticing them into the bar to spend money is called marketing.
