| The first time we actually played it out wide (mid way through 2nd half) we ended up scoring
The only time (last ten mins of game) we had our 'main' props on the field we scored twice.
Even someone who has no idea about RL can see there are basic failings in the game plan

Everyone can see this but Mr Hughes, he can't really believe that we can't do better than Powell?

| I was thinking about how we could mix up our way of playing to give us more strike
What about Gower at 9. He is the only player who picks and goes and straightens the ball up(Rinaldi did yesterday to his credit)
Move Dixon to Full back playing like Webb used to do at Leeds. Hovering around the PTB. Gower could pick and go with Dixon on his shoulder. Run more at the first defenders who are generally props
This frees up Robertson to play at centre in O'C position.
Put Dorn on the wing which adds speed-he could come in and run of inside balls
This style would allow us to play in the opposition face, give us more speed and be more unpredictable

| London Broncos coach Rob Powell applauded his team's spirit after a late rally snatched a 28-24 victory over Widnes at the Stoop.
Antonio Kaufusi burst over at the death, minutes after Dan Sarginson had set up a grandstand finish, as the men from the capital earned just their third win of the Super League season.
And Powell has high hopes there will be more of the same to follow.
He said: "It is really great to be able to focus on something positive rather than negative. I thought the way we came back at the end said a lot about our spirit and resolve.
"This win really should be a big thing for us. It is the type of thing that galvanises a group, and to see the players jumping and celebrating at the end said a lot.
"I hope that helps build the chemistry of the squad and we can take that forward."

| Wire. Was thinking why we strand Dixon out on the wing too. But just thought that when attacking why not move him inside OC and switch em when defending.

Been saying for weeks we should be playing Dixon at FB which is his natural position. He proved very dangerous there in the U20's and in broken play would make a lot of yards for us as well as tries. I don't disagree about Gower at Hooker if we had a decent SH to cover him but we don't.

| What about switching Gower and Rinaldi between 9 and 7, Sargy or Witt at 6, Roberston and Howell centres, Dorn and one other wing, Dixon at 1

| I don't think Rinaldi will be any good at 7 and since Witt has been very poor at 6 and Sargy is not tearing any trees up there either our creativity and running at the line will nosedive further. Switching Howell over will confuse him and cause further mistakes. Putting Dorn on the wing may work but he is one of our worst defenders and the wing is where the defence leaks the most. Bit like tossing a coin IMO.

| Um, deckchairs and Titanic come to mind.
Wonder if Lovell is ready to play centre? That's supposed to be his position and if he is, that would give some other options. I couldn't judge from what I saw from him yesterday.

| The option of dropping JOC because his defence is feeble and bringing in Dorn is laughable.

| The game of the season, well the avoidance of the wooden spoon for at least just now between two sides with little confidence and structure in defence and attack. That said for much of the game Widnes looked more structured and dangerous going forward. While we managed a few chances chalked off for a variety of reasons, Widnes seriously bombed a couple of chances that would have won them the game by some distance. A game of Dumb v Dumber. When you don’t know if you want to lose as it just might get rid of the coach or win because that is what you should want it’s a problem. As put into perfect perspective by Phil to my right, “I’ve seen Super League on the television and this certainly isn’t it”
Individually a number of our players have played well throughout the season what seems to be lacking is cohesion. I don’t agree that there isn’t a commitment there from the players just sometimes it seems half hearted. Is it the game plan they don’t agree with?
Mistakes at the PTB were too many, dropping the ball at a 20 metre restart, player in the way at a move. I’m sure they don’t do this in training do they? You can’t blame the coach for the individual errors but why so many. It really is a comedy of errors sometimes. Returning from the bar at half time to discover the half time slot was being filmed for a comedy show. It says something when they start to pack up and someone suggests they ought to continue filming as the second half hasn’t started yet.
I do think we have a strong forward pack and the forwards certainly drive us forward but the lack of variety in attack is still a significant problem. In comparison to some games the offloads were in abundance in this game, over three! Rather more significantly I thought people were actually expecting them. Still points where a break happens and no support though. Rinaldi brought variation to the PTB and a certain je ne sais quoi.
It was however a win and that should be recognised. Last minute certainly made for theatre but the fact we came back at all is a significant step in the right direction and we were still fighting for it. Still not an 80 minute team but playing for the last ten minutes helped on this occasion.

I weren't too happy either. Robbed me of enjoying a last-gasp win!
