| I'd like more Union boys to come watch RL. Just don't expect me to reciprocate the arrangement. Union smells.

and with that attitude, is it any wonder that the Union lot don't come along.
I watch both games and as I can understand the rules of both, as well as the tactics used, I can enjoy both.
I freely admit that Union is becoming very very very tedious at the moment and their constant tinkering with the rules is making the game a kickathon, but I will still watch and appreciate some of the finer things about it.

| I don't actually mind watching RU, I'm just old-school, I'd never pay to watch something which I perceive as fundamentally an amateur pursuit (yes I know it's now professional - but certain aspects of the game remain distinctly amateur in their design).

| Here's an amazing thought...
Perhaps Mr Evans doesnt want to make QRL an RU club - Why have two near identical products competing for the same market?
Perhaps he will want to emphasise the distinctiveness and go looking for new audiences in those bits of west london where the estate agents don't drive BMWs

| Our family played union for years. We won tickets to watch RL in the first season of super league, came along and watched a game and were totally and utterly hooked on League. We have season tickets for league but now only go to the occassional union game. I appreciate both codes, each has it's merits. Each is important to their fan. My preference is League and I expect to be respected for freedom of choice but we should also welcome new members and let them see the 'error of their ways' (only joking) we have a great product and if we can spread the word then we should be doing so. Does it matter who is in charge, what their bacground is, where they come from as long as they carry out their work in a professional manner and build our club.

| baffled by the age old bigotry and attitudes emanating from some on here; some of whom aren't even old enough to remember the days of shamateurism.
RU is a sport - like any other, has its pros and cons and its history. I personally think it's losing its way as a spectacle at the moment with the ELV's, but it's still great to watch. It's just not as good as league IMO.
But this is 2009. Come on; who even remembers who threw the first punch. Just because some RU fans are xenophobic (look it up Lister) to us, does that mean we retaliate in return. Let's be bigger than that. I repeat, this is 2009, hell I hear some people even marry interracially in this day and age! Whowouldathoughtit....

Wow! you can? Union offside and rucking rules? I'm impressed indeed (no sarcasm intended).
tbf there is a lot to enjoy in an attacking flowing game of Union, pity is it doesnt happen too often

I think in all honesty my knowledge of what happened to rugby league in France to the benefit of rugby union informs alot of my judgement when it comes to RU.
Well, that and the fact its dull.

I can actually emjoy watching the All Blacks who play a passing game. Its when they start kicking back and forwards without getting any real advantage that I start to fall asleep. Each to their own i guess.

The rules are quite simple really. It's just that those players who are considered brilliant (richie Mcaw(sic)) manage to play right on the edge and sometimes over it and that makes the rules look confusing.
rlTHIS MIGHT HELPrl
