Black Backgrounds/Zoot.gif Freedom for supporters of the government, only for members of one party - however numerous they may be - is no freedom at all. freedom is always and exclusively for one who thinks differently.

| Nilling a side as good as Dewsbury are supposed to be is particularly pleasing.

| Eventually got radio Oldham up and running, best comm have heard in years, and the woman in the background was hilarious.
Was a bit concerning the first half, took us a long time to wear em down although our goal line defence sounded pretty solid especially after last week.
Far too many penalties for my liking. But we nilled em, we got the points which is important.
Interesting results elsewhere as well, looks like leigh are definatly unsettled and Swinton gave dewsbury a scare, can't take next week for granted.

| Not long back. Always good to get the 2 pts on the road. Not a bad team performance, not sure we ever got out of third gear offensively, but certainly good in defence. That said, Oldham, for all their effort and endeavour lacked quality and their attack was somewhat predictable. Too many penalties and too many unforced errors. We played an effective game plan, winter basics for winter conditions - thats what was required after last week. That said, given the pitch was 'waterlogged' yesterday, it looked in very good nick. All the new boys played well and I think by the time we visit Leigh in round 3, we will be a lot smoother.

| Tidy little ground. Two small seated stands on either side between the 20m lines. Partial covering on both ends terrace. It's about three quarters of the way up a proper hill and has a noticeable slope (nowt like Batley though). There was a bitter breeze blowing down the slope. Pitch was very level, plenty of grass and held up well, though was clearly sodden. We started up hill in the first half so we had the benefit of the shelter of the stand. Oldham are well organised, played their sets and chose good options. Pinned us down and won repeated sets. However our defence was solid and they probably lack penetration. Better teams might have scored 3 or 4 tries. We did get up there half a few times. If we were lying on it was as a result of dominant tackles. Ackers did well after a strong run from Slyney. Stapleton bombed at least one. Second half, changed ends and at the bottom of the hill we got the joy of the bitter wind and drizzle blowing in.
Broncos controlled it better in the second half. But Oldham kept to their game plan for most of it and put in good kicks at the end of their sets. We were probably making the better yards towards the end of the first half when we did hold onto and with the benefit of the slope it improved. Barthau kicked what most, apart from the ref and linesman, thought was a 40/20. Think fitness, the slope and some better play told in the end.
Oh and given that Oldham's home kit this year is meant to be red and white hoops, they played in an all red shirt.

Thanks for the match review.
Apparently Oldham's shirt today was a one-off to commemorate summat. Shirts will be auctioned off for charity.

| Plum and others have said it all really, our defence was good, so pleased we stopped them scoring. Too many penalties.
I think we tried to force the game at times, which cost us two tries, however its early days.
Could not believe how good the pitch was, considering the previous days football was postponed due to waterlogging.
Really i a good result, no looking forward to next week. We must take advantage of being at home !
By the way, well done Batley, did not see that coming.

| Well played London.
As an aside. Saw Shane Millard on Saturday. Still a top man.

| Brian, don't worry am sure the negatives will come, we didn't score early enough, we didn't score enough points, they scored too many even though it was null, we are full time they are part time, the bus taking us up was wrong colour, mention gus somewhere etc etc etc.
Cheers for game report chaps impressed you were there, I wimped out in the end but that's coz I went to Essex uni to do a game rather than RN academy at St judes.
Interesting you reckon we never really got out of 3rd gear. Nice to hear we played the conditions better than last week.
Any obvious injuries
Assuming it was matt Davies with his blue headguard on, he got some stick from commentary team
