| Dennis Moran. He was in full flight as a Bronco, not at the end of his career like most of the 'greats' who played for us in our better years when SL began.

| Couldn't agree more about Denis Moran. Had a superb season for us, then moved on to Wigan- with less success. Honourable mentions to Mark Riley and Leo Dynevor too. Like Denis, nobody knew what they'd get up to next- least of all them!

15431.jpg In a debate about why the CC final isnt in HD.

[quote="TheBigFella":1jjuuzre]Im a Northerner and Ive got HD. C0ck. We could also probably buy 3 to 4 houses for what you would pay for 1, doesnt that tell you something.[/quote:1jjuuzre]

| Gower and Hill are always stand outs for me when I think back to some of our best players.

| I notice Tulsen Tollet presents the Sports bulletins on the BBC News channel.

| Not sure that qualifies him as our greatest ever. Tulse was a decent player and good luck to him for getting a gig with the BBC. Struddy (Ross Strudwick) also worked with the beeb. It's one of life's mysteries how he managed to refrain from swearing when adding his 'expert' comments to Ray French's commentary on Cup Final days.

| First thought was Mark Riley. After a bit more thought, I remembered how influential Terry Matterson was for us. I'd probably still go with Riley though.
But in terms of pure excitement when he got hold of the ball, and didn't drop it (and when he could be bothered), Richie Barnett.
Last time this was discussed, I think I went for Greg Barwick. He was pretty good too!

| Sumo was unique in that he gained an inch around his waist every game. He could play though. If we are extending this thread to include notable fat boys, Victor Timms, Kevin Langer and the late, great, London legend Ian Van Belly spring to mind.

| Quote: tim "Gower and Hill are always stand outs for me when I think back to some of our best players.'" Both great players but not around for that long (neither quite getting to 50 games).
Luke Dorn has to be up there for me with 111 tries in 167 games over 2 spells. Really got the crowd going.
