| As has been said, this is a perfectly legitimate grievance and one that needs addressing. The club are already opening two, sometimes three stands anyway, so lets properly co-ordinate things so that people can sit together!

Have you tried using the new online ticketing system? It doesn't work properly for me but you can pick your seat. Would be interesting to see how many season ticket holders we actually have from that too.

Seriously, why don't those who resent the East stand experiment just walk up to Mr Hughes and Mr Blanchard in the Jesters? I am sure they will be willing to listen.
Banging off emails is all well and good, but a good old fashioned 1-2-1 is always best when trying to get your point accross.
As for the glass issue, I wasn't saying that it would be a good idea to serve beer in glass, just responding to the comment
"Getting your beer in a glass, could cause problems." which I may or may not have taken out of context.
Lastly and sorry if I am going over old ground here, but the club need to make ends meet and as such, have taken this current decision on both financial grounds and at the request of the TV company, who give the club £1,200,000+ a year.
I am sure the Club are looking at the Seating arrangements and will make a judgement on the success or failure in good time.

| I notice you are STILL swerving the fact that they are already opening 2/3 stands and you are still rattling on about "financial grounds" and "making ends meet".
You are turning into the number 1 club apologist and its quite sad.

Sorry if you think I am becoming an apologist
I am not as it happens and I still seethe at the apparent lack of activity on the marketing front. A good example would be the tie-in with Chessington WOA....I have seen nothing advertised anywhere other than the site and the e-zine, which would seem a tad disapointing and a waste of another opportunity.
Still, I will await the turn around in activity I have been told will happen soon, but I won't hold my breath
Once again List, sorry

| I've been to two games this season, I stupidly decided against a season ticket due to travel plans (wish the £65 was still around). Each game I've brought with me 4-5 friends who were newbies. Now due to lack of commitment and waiting for weather on their behalf we've been walk-ups early in the afternoon and have scored ordinary seats each game.
Now while you can say this is my fault for buying on the day, the guys that come with me (or other new fans) dont know the reasons behind opening one stand and just see spare seats all around the stadium from their front row view.
If the club is going to open up the south/north stands regardless, wouldnt it be easier to sell GA tickets to away fans in one of these stands? Giving more room for home fans to bring friends and get a better view.
Currently we are severly restricting the clubs room for growth on ticket sales, and leaving a bad taste in the mouth of new fans and away fans. The cost of moving all away fans into a southern/northern stand would be minimal (on current costs), while potentially reaping extra revenue from future ticket sales.
This Saturday I have only 1 friend returning from the 9 that have come with me this season, I might be able to coax 1 or 2 new comers. The others while enjoyed the atmosphere pre and post game, were'nt impressed with their seats. Yes we could buy earlier, but there are often factors that prevent securing exact numbers until game day.
At the moment, the club is shooting itself in the foot. I beleive I can speak with some experience as the ticketing manager of a major sport from back in Aus.

Nope...not swerving it at all. Can't say I have noticed the south and North stands open. Saw a few kids (looked like players) in the South at the wire game, but didn't notice people sitting in the North. If that is the case, then yes, the club should sell seats in the North to Away fans. As for the financial grounds stuff, I thought I had explained that one.
Let's try again shall we.......
Average gates of 4,000 odd..with average receipts of £38k a game. £494k from 13 games....so let's round that up to £500k. Maybe another 500k from residuals such as jerseys, beer, food etc......
SKY..........give us £1,250,000 a year and have asked us to experiment with the 1 full stand scenario. You and I know that it won't work, but the single biggest revenue source for the club have asked them to try it.......so they are.
Sorry

I was too busy watching the game, rather than looking at the stands.
Just looked at the booking site and it would seem that nearly all the Jester cheap seats are gone, but there are plenty of £25 seats available.......Some right beside L&L.
Also, the only place you can book seats on the site is the East.......both the south and north are not available.
Really sorry

We understand the reasoning behind the move....
However, the stands behind the sticks have been opened in games that I've been to. So therefore instead of using them as overflow, open ONE of them up for away and sell as GA.
IF we fill our stand, open up the other stand behind the sticks as overflow. Its simple, gives all fans a better experience, allows for growth, keeps SKY TV happy.
At the moment having the two ends empty looks worse then the scenario we are talking of having one partially filled and the main stand 3/4 full.

Paying £25 for a ticket I could walk up and get for £10 last year?
I wont be able to get any of the guys to come for £25, I can get premier league tickets at that price.
Was going to come this weekend, but looking at availability it looks like its easier to watch on SKY

sorry. I must pay more attention to the crowd, stewards and away fans than to the game........
I buy walk up tickets. I am not particularly pleased with the selection of seats left when I get there an hour before KO, but what the hell, these are the chances i take and choices I make.
There are appx 1,150 ST holders, leaving about 3,000 seats to choose from if you book on line or over the phone.
AA, AB, AH and AJ are the cheap seats, with AA and AB for the away crew. That's 1,000 seats at 500 a block. So, with 2,000 seats left to fill 1,000 being Jester, the rest premium, there is always a chance that you won't get seats together in prime position. This is not the clubs fault. To the poster who can't commit until match day, you can still call up in the morning and collect your tickets when you arrive.
I can see the point being made about openeing the North for Away fans only......but I refer you back to my observation regarding SKY, the request they made and the £1,200,000 that the club receives.
FWIW, on the club site, the Jester seats in AA, AH ans AJ are pretty much gone, so loads of walk ups may get a nasty suprise when the roll up and get asked for £25 notes instead of the £15 they expect to pay.

| After much gnashing of teeth regarding the £15-£25 seat scenario in the East Stand Only available saga........I feel it's worth while those posters who have thoughts on this either posting their ideas on this thread, or PM- ing me.
I have no doubt that the club will listen to a "unified" question regarding this, together with ticketing and prices, but it just seems that some will simply post on here and either stump up the £25 or just not turn up.
Neither of these is an ideal situation, as has been pointed out that some "newbies" will pay the £15.....but not the £25.
I also freely admit to not being fully up to date with what is open to all and not, with regard to the south/north stand and will happily be guided by those who know what is what.
This is not to say I will be the one to offer this "unified" question, but it is obvious that this is an important issue.
Please do include a viable solution and a suitable reply to the "SKY have asked us to fill one stand" resonse we will get.
I look forward to your sensible replies.
Thanx
Barney
