| I went to the Eng v Wales game and booed Tomkins at every opportunity particularly after each of his tries.
The real dissapointment was that his brother wasn't playing as I could have booed him too

My thoughts? but it seems to be some infection that has spread to those fans around St Helens and Warrington, they were Never Heard anyway even at the ground, I suppose it is keeping them occupied, off the streets and out of trouble LOL!

I know, but it is completely stupid, rugby league used to be a game which was so family orientated and good banter, but some of the new younger fans are just so bitter and hold resentment, why? like the recent looting in the riots beyond me.

| Do you think Tomkins gets booed due to resentment or do you think its maybe that he is seen as a cheat due to his constant holding the tackler in when tackling him, mouthing of at the Ref etc. I think what you say is correct but Tomkins is bringing about the booing due to his cheating. Far better players than him (Hanley, Edwards, Farrell) all good, honest, hard players were never booed
Im not sure what the link to looting is. In the 70's didn't we have football violence which we dont seem to get today.

| Quote: jaybs "What a sad sight to watch the game on the BBC when I returned home and see all those empty red seats at Leigh, also the real lack of atmosphere, though I was pleased that at last people respected Sam Tomkins, it was also superb the Welsh following when they scored
I was critical when it was decided to use Leigh, 12,000 capacity? but we can't even fill a ground of that size?
I really hope we can attract many more than 50,000 next weekend and prove those many Northern doubters wrong, every school in London should be offered free tickets organised groups lets fill Wembley!'"
It was a decent crowd for an England v Wales game where the result is a foregone conclusion.
RL is full of people whinging and moaning, many while sat on their backsides at home.

| I think we should take each game at a time. We should boo any player if they are guilty of unsportsmanlike behaviour. If they behave so should we!

Well most media guys agreed that it was a disappointing attendance at Leigh, and the feeling was the problem is the bad travel connections to the Leigh ground.
If you did read what I say, it was when I arrived home from the game, I also watched the recording I had made. So it was a foregone conclusion England would win, well until Wales really collapsed I did not see it that way, we had a few really Outstanding England players which Wales did not have.
I agree about the number who whine on this forum and never seem to read what was said or seem to want to look for any fault they can find.
I stand by an attendance of 10,000 for an England RL game on national TV in a small stadium is simply not good enough and a bad advertisement for our game and makes us look small time, that is not whine it is an opinion and one agreed by many!

... and the connection between all of that and this thread's title and first postIn the week when our heroic SL team are re-branded there will be 50,000 at Wembley.'" is what? I see no connection at all.
This is primarily a forum for London RL. You should be making your points on the Virtual Terrace, not here.

I would like to see many of the few of that still come to this forum regular keep to that rule, I have never seen you bring anyone else up before.
At the start of the thread I clearly said it will be good for London RL and the game in general; if we can get a good attendance, by the way up to Saturday 34,000 tickets had been sold.
I note others first started discussing of booing, then a former London player playing for Wales, the treatment of Championship clubs by the RFL, but I can't see any reminder to them BroncOnion! about there threads and going to the Virtual Terrace?
I have broad shoulders and if I am wrong I admit it and always will, but why have you chosen to single just my comment in this way please, LOL!

Your very first post on this thread derailed it by going on about the attendance at Leigh, and your latest post was still harping on about the same subject which is irrelevant to this board. You've surpassed my irritation threshold, other posters haven't, hence I complain about you.
I don't know if you've posted on this thread: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=512449 , but it's where your comments belong.
