So a Bronco is an unsuitable mascot for a team called London Broncos? A Bronco that has been around the club for longer than 95% of its players and staff. People ramble on about history - they loved it when we had a shirt that represented the London Broncos era, yet you advocate getting rid of Buck and Dusty, "coz Hughes sed so". Lunacy.
And you don't market a mascot.

| If only we can be assured that Homer won't be inside the carcass, I don't really care what the mascot is called.
Maybe Mr Hughes is trying to fool all of us? We'll soon know.
Tuesday arvo beckons ...

I thought as much. I'm relying on your reliability as I have told several people about this fact

| Interesting if Buck and Dusty are dispatched to the knackers yard and to be replaced by what? Can't wait until next week.

| The failed brand is a Super League Club in London, regardless of name, owners or ground.
The sport is alive and well at a grassroots level, but the majority of those playing it are not interested in watching it, especially the kids.
It has been very noticeable, the number of kids that were involved in the match day events, heading away from the Stoop rather than into it as kickoff approaches, despite having free tickets, and those that do stay bale out before the end of the game.
The club need to carry out a survey of the kids for the reasons. One of which will be the cost of chips, and soft drinks. The prices maybe okay for the average middle class RU fan, but not the working class kids that play RL. This is one area that should be renegotiated in the Stadium lease.

1649_1338292262.jpg I have followed the LONDON CLUB since I was in my teensl even though born in St Helens and still live nearby and went to the first game at Fulham, also Big West Ham Supporter:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_1649.jpg |

I think your first statement is far sweeping about failed brands in the heartlands of the game for a lot longer period clubs did not attract large crowds, Huddersfield in such a Large Stadium often only used to get average of 5,000? then St Helens this last season having to move down the road to Widnes a few miles suffered such a big drop in their attendances.
Yes I accept we have a problem, the grassroots game as you state is more healthy in the South than many areas of the North, but we do not seem to be able to attract the players, but you have to understand the area size of London and the clubs are spread not all based in Twickenham. Kids are a problem that they do not stay and their parents we know that.
But the game has worked in London we have had attendances in the past which at least were equal to many Northern clubs, we need to get the success on the pitch and the marketing completely right, also the are of the ground with good travel connections has to be so right.

You were doing well until that point. Laughable comment.

I doubt the club can do anything about that. Quins RU franchise out the catering for events at the stadium. I strongly suspect any tenants will be bound by that deal as part of renting the ground.

| So Lister you've never seen any kids and parents walkaway from the Kiosk after been seeing the price of the chips or burgers or heard their comments?
Your match day experience may involve a couple of beers, kids look forward to a bit of junk food, it is out of their price range. Alcohol in relative terms is cheap within the ground, unless you compare it with Lloyds in Twickenham.
Halfdan understand that, hence my last sentence, it needs renegotiating.

Such franchise deals usually grant exclusivity for sales at all events at the location. As such it's highly unlikely to be something the club can renegotiate. The only way out of any existing deal is likely to involve paying compensation to the franchise holder which rather defeats the point of doing it as we'd have to recoup that money from the new food provider, with an obvious impact on to their pricing structure.
Must admit it is a shame the catering is seen as quite such a cash cow. Whilst I hardly ever eat at the game I've often heard away fans moaning and I do feel sorry for those with a family to feed who leave food after a long journey south to eating in the ground. That's sports grounds for you though, I certainly won't be eating at Wembley next weekend either.

| Yeah no working class football fans ever go to Premier League games or Wembley cos the chips and burgers are overpriced!! Get a grip!! That is not the reason. A poor team and an unfashionable club are the reason. In fact its an unfashionable club, playing an unfashionable sport with a poor team in someone elses stadium. The reality is franchises are not made of this! We need serious business backing and some better RL PR from the RFL. All the little things everyone moans about on here make very little difference.
