| To be honest don't know what to make of this. what would another move or change of name do to the junior setup that they have worked so hard to get up and running in and around that area of London.
Ok on a selfish point of view if it was say Gillingham (as mentioned by tedquinton), then great easy for me to get and less traveling could mean time to hang round after the game. But also cant help feel a move there would be the end of us and we be gone by the end of a year.
If it MK or even Oxford, then like others here that be it for me. it just be to far to travel to game day,(esp Oxford).
the only thing maybe going for Mk is the fact not much competition as their is in London (apart from one football team and sometimes Northampton Union side play there).. But you have to start from scratch with any junior setup yet again.

| Moving is one thing, but Gillingham? Jesus, that really would be the end of the club. How many Londoners would be able (or prepared) to travel down there for games? What about kids playing/training in the Academy sides? You can only really do it if you from SELondon, it's just too far for anyone else. And you can forget about any pretence of it being a London club, rahrah might get away with it but we wouldn't. Medway Dragons for ESL perhaps?
If the club is serious about leaving London then a better option would be chatting to Dacorum Council about the stadium they're planning in Hemel Hempstead. 6,000 capacity with an option to upgrade to 12,000. RL is well known in the town, and it's not too far from London. There are also some big companies based there.

| This all sounds hopeless! Club has to stay in London or it dies full stop. Kent Invicta etc etc, deeply depressing - people may hate the RU Club, but Harlequins are a brand which the club could have exploited better. I dont know about Letton Orient or some such maybe London Whatever RL, but not outside London or se are dead

| What about the Olympic Hockey stadium after 2012? I'm sure I read somewhere that Barry Hearn had been trying to get his paws on it for the O's - maybe we could get in there instead using the sporting legacy arguement/ guff? Would be new, about the right size / capacity and inside the capital so no need to move to MK,Oxford,Gillingham or Balamory!!

| Orient were told no, so fat chance of us getting it. This is depressing, as most people can only list stadiums outisde of London, even as far away as MK! If they leave London, then they might as well just pack it in, as I don't see how they'll survive there.

So a 16 year old from Feltham is going to travel all the way down to Gillingham two nights a week for training, and then games on the weekend. He'll be off to play union before pre-season training has finished.

Many travel the other way from Medway every week from ages 12 to Quins PDC so I cannot see your argument.

| Has anyone suggesting Gillingham actually been to Gillingham? Put it this way, I could get a local bus to Gillingham to watch RL and I still wouldn't bother.
