thanks, on that basis we should aim for a minimum 14 points, i.e. 7 wins

| I have to agree. Fourteen points should be enough.
I think home games will be crucial to our survival. We need to make Trailfinders a fortress. The fact that we have an artificial pitch, which a lot of teams dislike, could be a help.

Certainly avoid 2014, particularly as I attended every home game except Leeds which we won!
home is key I agree, any away win will be a bonus!

| Yes 2014 was grim. We were lucky that we got that win and that Leeds took us lightly.I think they had one eye on the Cup Final. However if I remember that we were down in the first half and came back, we managed to hang on to win.
Not a good way to bow out of Super League.

The team had some decent players who went on to better things. We just seem to leave it to late to prepare
Hence why I hope we get our signings done early so we can get ready as a squad.

| London and Salford will certainly be the bottom two clubs, coin flip for who goes down.

| Well, Sir Kevin Sinfield. Are you Garry Schofield in disguise?
How well are your Leeds OAP Rhinos going to do then?

Why? Getting kids to cross a couple of roads to come to a game is one thing, but stretching out into bus/tube journey isn't going to cut it
Quote: northernbloke " All london RL playing schools!'"
...nope, because the "parents" have shown what happens even when the kids play on the main pitc....they bail staight away and don't hang about for the main game......this is what has happened since we first reached out to the kids and it will always happen as it is eating into the parents weekends. Do it local and the kids can walk home.
Quote: northernbloke "Engage with all the ljl clubs better'"
Been tried and tested and failed. An example would be the Hoists who are only interested in the social aspect of the game and who head to Belushi's afterwards, because they are sponsored by them. The only way to get clubs like that to come to the party is to sponsor them..........
Quote: northernbloke "The teams who finished bottom in the previous seasons are listed below
2017 Widnes 11 pts 12 LEIGH
2016 Huddersfield 12 pts 14 HKR
2015 Wakefield 6 pts 17 SALFORD
2014 Broncos 2 pts 21 WAKEFIELD (BRADFORD ON 10 WENT WITH US)
2013 Salford 11 pts 12 LONDON
2012 Widnes 12 pts 12 CASTLEFORD
2011 Crusaders 8 pts 10 WAKEFIELD'"
In Red are the teams and points that finished 2nd to bottom 112/8 = 14 points. 7 wins (as others have said) should do it, but we need to make sure that we win more than we lose at home to stand a chance.
The defensive coaching is going to be key to us staying up. Concede on average 20 points or less a game and we're top half of the table, concede less than 30 and we should scrape it, but a couple of hammerings and it becomes twitchy bum time.
As for 2014.........no side will ever be that bad or disinterested again (unless they hire a certain administrator)

| Local schools playing rugby league! Name em! There are no local schools in Ealing playing rugby league.
Closest one is Uxbridge, and they don’t have a local junior club to play at.

| Club article the other day said the community team is involved in 23 schools in Ealing. No idea to what extent, but some more than others obviously.
Schools work really depends on the aim. If it's to get kids playing RL then you can do it anywhere in London, if there's a club nearby for them to join. If it's with the aim of getting them to attend games then there's really no point going into schools in Deptford or wherever - you need to keep it local.

| The schools they are going into in Ealing is community work, certainly not playing RL. Or if they are those schools are not on the RFL national schools radar.
There are no community teams anywhere near either for the stepping stone. Broncos setting up an u13 u15 team to compete in ljl would pay off but it needs the will, and don’t think it’s there at the moment.

And?
Community work is the key. We don't care if the local schools play RL (yet), but what we do need is more locals attending games....getting kids playing the sport isn't our remit, running a self sustainable top flight professional outfit is!
As with Banks since time began, offer a student a freebie when they open an account with you and chances are they'll stick with you for life.....My sister in her 60's living in the South of France still has her Bank account in Hitchin, where she opened it in the 70's.......I still bank in the UK with Santander, because they bought Abbey who in turn bought N&P where my first ever bank account was opened for me on my christening day....get 'em young and get 'em for life.
I repeat (and there are those closer to the club that will back me up), the RL community in both schools and clubs in the region have little interest in the Broncos. We need to concentrate on the 350,000 people living in Ealing.....and IMH Professional opinion, getting local schools, scout groups, guides etc to sell out tickets for a commission is far more important to the club as a professional entity than asking kids from across London to play a game at Trailfinders and then be dragged home by their bored parents before the SL game starts......no revenue, no interest, no point!
To start with I'd be running a LOCAL inter school competition to design a new banner for the club to mark our return to SL. First prize a VIP experience for a match day with food and merchandise thrown in. If successful, then maybe another competition to design a shirt for Magic Weekend......this is community marketing, not busing kids in from essex who'll never come back

| Following on from the Cowgirls thread, why not get this institute to "represent" on match day?
rlhttps://www.ealingstreetdance.com/rl
They can't be any worse than some of the cheerleaders at heartland clubs....
Then talk to these guys
rlhttps://www.londonbeerlab.com/rl
Mondo Brewing Company
The Belleville Brewing Co.
rlhttps://www.weirdbeardbrewco.com/rl
AND MANY MANY MORE....
There's no such thing as a new idea in marketing......it works for puzzled locals in Toronto then why not try it out o the hipsters of Ealing? Beer Festival at at least 3 home games in the summer......
Get a resident Band to play for 2 Hours after the game and open it up to everyone. Gold Memberships etc are worth a pittance to the club in real terms, but we need to give people a reason to stay and enjoy themselves.....the atmosphere at the Stoop in the long bar room was always pretty good.
Half time activity.......employ a charismatic announcer and run the old 6 of the best thing that we did at Griffin Park.....
...all this stuff costs little if anything, but if we go down the route of announcing KO times and expecting the fans to flock to the games........well, we know how that pans out!
