The inability to use the wingers this year has been frustrating to say the least. In the 9 competition games this season there have only been 6 tries by the wingmen. Rhys Williams has always played right wing and scored just twice, playing in every game. Dixon, Kear & Sammut have played left wing scoring just 4 tries between them, Dixon with two. Purtell seems to blank Dixon in particular, rarely giving him possession, while Hellewell is slightly better at getting the ball to Rhys, but dropped balls seem to be our biggest enemy almost every time in getting the ball out to the fringes. If we can hold onto the damn thing we'll stand a better chance at beating Fev away next Sunday.
RE: travel, I was talking to some of the player's wives/partners etc about travel arrangements and most agreed the 'day-trip' up in the club coach was never ideal for their 'men' as they often felt 'cramped & tired' after all those motorway miles.
