It's been a while so hello once more.
I attended Saturday's game after coaching the Skolars minis in the morning, and the one thing that struck me was the sense that the Stoop and its staff do not want RL there anymore. A couple of years ago it was a fantastic day out, great turnout by the Quins RL fans, the staff were happy in their jobs, and the players gave 100%. Now, none of it happens, the players are way out of their league with a couple of exceptions, and believe they have made it. Sorry lads, you need to put in a lot more work to make in Superleague. Don't forget this was only Salford, the battle of the wooden spoon. Very poor crowd indeed, could only have been 500-1000.
As, I think its Gutterfax, has always pointed out, lost opportunities I would call Saturday, they should have had 400 children and parents in the ground but we all shuffled off because of the organisation of the morning and the fact that all the parents had to pay to watch their child play on the main pitch!!Diabolical!!
I love it in Twickers, with Richmond down the road, pure fantasy. I travel over from NE London and my cousin from Hemel Hempstead and we used to have season tix. If this move to Barnet and the smaller stadium comes off I think a 5k all seater would be perfect as it would mean a full house for the Wigan/Saints/Warrington/Leeds games and nearly full for the rest and generate some sort of atmosphere. For on Saturday at 3pm, there was no atmosphere with the exception of the Salford crew who were even supporting London after the first three scores to get something going on the terraces!!
Moan over, hopefully we will secure the move all are talking about and it will set up a great future for the club. Superleague needs London, there are more children playing this great game in and around London now than in the heartlands. I give between 5 & 10 years the league will be awash with London lads plying their trade.
Message to the RFL, give the Broncos and my beloved Skolars a minimum 25 years and we will see a great product, after all our friends from the North have had over 100 years to get something going!!
Thank you for your time, and now onto Emmerdale, Corrie, and Monday night rugga with a side order of chicken wings!!
