Found out at the weekend that there are major engineering works on my rail line into London from the Kent coast which involves train, get off and sit on a bus for god knows how long, get back on another train just to get into London let alone get across to Leyton Orient's ground. As I am on a walking stick at the moment recovering from two bone ops I am afraid that I don't feel like facing a 6 hour round trip. If anybody is coming up from further down the coast or from Faversham, Sittingbourne, Rainham, Gillingham etc it is get off at Rainham and catch the bus.

Westy - will be interesting to see how the O's stewards behave....I well remember what the jobsworths what like at Charlton...talk about heavy handed (another good reason not to get involved with soccer clubs).

Like Marilyn, we've got engineering works on our rail line and although not as bad as Marilyn's, got to drive to another station which is a right pain (another good reason not to have matches on Sundays...too much hassle on transport round London!).

I've been to Orient in the away section four or five times now and there's one particular steward who is an absolute <insert rude word here>. He's running around all the time telling people to sit down or stop singing. I always wonder if he's as proactive when rather than 200-300 away fans it's Millwall or some other moody local team. Probably not!
I like the club and have always been able to have a pint and a chat - and even a sing song - with the home fans in that large pub popular with away fans on the main road near the away stand but some of the stewards are proper eejits!

My train line seems like the only one that is actually running in Kent this weekend. In fact, the service is even better than usual on Sunday.
