That has to be embarrassing sacked by mutual consent to take up the England post sometime in the future.

Makes you wonder about the wisdom of the RFL's choice as England coach really.

Sadly matches against top class opposition are so limited I reckon most decent coaches aren't going to find the role challenging enough compared to working with a Superleague (or NRL) club week in week out. I don't suppose the RFL had a lot to choose from.

It was one of the things Tony Smith mentioned as missing and as a reason for leaving the job if I recall - day to day work with clubs.
