Not really. He’s a great player to watch but I reckon we were focused on signing Corey Norman

always been a fan of sammut, would have liked to have seen him at the giants in his career. but with brough around that was never going to happen, both generals.

as for signing him now, we arent even in the market for a half back, we signed frawley .....

Ollie Russell signing for Leigh soon, not sure if it's permanent, or a loan.

If that is the case hopefully just loan as think he will be brilliant in a few years

Young and lacking in experience - Yes!
Bit pushed down the pecking order to two players who've yet to show what they CAN do and another who's yet to fulfil his potential is just a tad presumptuous and no reflection on the game he had at Headingley Good lord don't we like pulling the ladder away when youngsters start climbing. Doesn't seem to work like that with with some clubs !

Good youngsters are dying to improve and have ambition Jools They want to aspire to a higher standard and play alongside seasoned good professional players if they've got promise! (IMO)
They don't want to stagnate by playing alongside lads who are at the same level or lower and be 3rd or 4th in line playing the " waiting game" That can be soul destroying and knock out the fire in their belly.
As I say IMO but have seen it happen over the few seasons been watching Ok being 2nd in line but soul destroying further down the pecking order for lads determined to succeed!

confirmed russell to leigh for 2019 on loan

Seems an interesting one. We have just signed Wigan scrum half, Josh Woods, (a Leigh season ticket holder, would you believe?!) to learn from playing regularly alongside Martyn Ridyard. Now it looks like Olly Russell has signed for the same reason. Perhaps we will be employing a different playing formation at Leigh next season?

Looking forward to seeing both Woods and Russell though - it's always nice to see young talent from top clubs - even though we are only borrowing them!
