If Symonds is injured long term, the club could look to release him and use the Ormsby/Symonds salary cap to bring in an overseas 2nd rower.

Feel sorry for him. I always thought he looked decent for Wire, and joined our club at a terrable time when just about everyone was playing rubbish.
Good luck to him. I still wouldn't rule out a super league career for him in the future. He certainly worked hard.

Being an overseas player and a second rower doesn't automatically tick the box.
Symonds may just do the business yet, and if not we should play the waiting game until somebody good (preferably English) comes along.

Fair call, he wasn't good enough and was clearly not part of the plans here, he didn't always fill himself with glory when called upon neither.

good decision, one of the worst performances from a player ive seen when he played last season at salford, totally lost his confidence despite a bright start to his career at the giants

Yeah but Smith has had an age to prove he’s consistently good enough for SL and the pack is even poorer when he plays never made it wherever he played always moved on and we gave him a long term contract that was nuts.

Sorry but he’ll never be good enough and nor will we whilst we give nearly four year contracts to ‘might have beens’

ormsby was a panic but from warrington last year when we were struggling for players due to injuries, he is now 4th choice winger at the giants... right decision to leave i think rather than sit in the stands every week.

smith was also an anderson signing i believe from wakefield... actually thought he looked good in his runs against hull but he undid everything with those two knock ons which then led to tries
