| To me the main problem we seem to have in attack is this....we rely so much in Broughy we may as well play with 1 half-back most games, problem is, as good as Danny has been, can be, is - he is 35 years old has had injury problems, has had 4 or 5 years of being the main man, either through coaching instructions or lack of a complimentary partner and is clearly reaching the limitations of his peak, if not already, Ryan Brierley does not look like the answer as we are using him in completely the wrong way, we are expecting him to be the new Broughy on the back of what Seb and Ukuma do - this is simply not his game, we need to either use him properly, as a supporting runner, or not at all and change it round.
Personally i would leave Ryan out and play Gaskell in the halves with Darnell/Mamo at FB, or worse still give young Zak Faz a go, he looks a lot ore creative in the 19's than Ryan does at the moment.
This is not a scapegoat post as i really like Ryan and think he will make a cracking player one day, but unfortunately i don't think we are playing the kind of game that a player like him can or will benefit from.
We need someone to take some pressure of Broughy and help the team around the park like he does, not only that we seriously need to be looking at finding his long term replacement NOW !!

| Having seen both Brierley and Gaskell close up in the championship over a couple of seasons, you are making a mistake playing Gaskell at 1 rather than 6.

| Have to agree Daz with most.
I think personally this should be Broughys last year and we should be trying to find a replacement soon for next season . He has been at top of his game and is now only going to decline or have more off games that good due to his age. As he is the only person who can create teams know how to defend against us now and we have no answer.
Brierley is not the answer with the way we play and is now been utterly wasted we may aswell have another forward on the field.
The
When Mamo is fit which I can't see anytime soon I think Gaskell has to go in the halves.
The Leeds game at home is a must win for a top 8 spot if not we are guaranteed middle 8s as we are losing to most our rivals Leigh and Salford so far.
Wigan, Cas and Hull are no longer rivals as they are light years in front of us.

| Lack of creativity sums it perfectly.
Our possession and terrority and in the first half warranted many more points than zero.
The players are committed. You. Could see the pain and upset in their faces when they came over to the fans at the end.
Anyone one wasn't at the game and only sees the score line may find it hard to believe, but I honestly think we could, and should have really won last night. We had the opportunities at the key moments in the game to do so.

| One of the other problems is we have got way too many average players in the team and probably 2 props short. You can use 'solid' as much as you like to describe the likes of Clough etc but solid doesn't win you games.
Clough, Wakeman, Hinchliffe, Smith and now Murphy are all average players and I think would not get in any top 8 superleague side.
Added to that we have a work in progress in Alex Mellor with no superleague preseason having to play every week in a tough position.
Ryan Brierley been wasted with the way we play.
An ever aging Danny Brough who teams have now worked out and know how to play as we have no plan B.
Really need to get Mamo back soon so Gaskell can go into the halves but at this point McIntosh would be better at FB and Gaskell go in the halves for next week at Wigan because if we line up how we did this week we will get trounced 50 points plus.
Wigan have Burgess, Bateman, Manfredi, Tomkins, Gildart, McIlorum, Sutton and Tierney out but will it affect them???? NO they will still beat which ever team we put out.

| Ryan is devastating when chiming into the line as like an extra FB, he is definitely not comfortable with the one out type RL style & fits best in a more off the cuff style team.
The lad copped a lot of stick from the North Stand last night & was visibly upset by it, while he did bring it upon himself he will have learnt from his mistakes & now needs to be cut a little slack.
In applauding the North Stand he will have gone some way to building bridges.
Off to send R.B an encouraging tweet.

How, i've said i like Ryan a lot, i want him to do well but they way we are playing is not suited to his game, that's a dig at the coaching team and tactics not the player !!

Exactly my point, we saw what he was capable of in the middle 8's last year doing just that.

| gaskell to the halves when mamo is fit is a good call
or even swap brierley and gaskell now! brierley to full back but think we have tried that route and mcintosh can do that job well too
just not working at the moment
maybe brough is the problem

I think it is Brough that is one of the problems through no fault of his own as he does give 100%
I feel teams can play us with ease now as we have no plan B and EVERYTHING goes through Broughy more often than not. Hes been the main man for a long time now and like it or not will start to decline and have fewer good games - he cant go on forever. Id like us to start planning without Broughy for next season and give him a coaching role. Unless we end up in the Championship which I then feel he would rip most teams apart week on week at that level even at 36.

I think there are moves afoot to get rid of this 3x8 business going on what i read up and down, So it may be that we will finish up with the wooden spoon and be saved again, as we have been in the past for one reason or another.
I was thinking at one point last season that a drop into the championship may well have been good for the club, It could possibly be the only way to sort the club out, It would depend of course on KD staying on board. His continued involvement now amazes me to be honest, but Hey Ho.

But is that because that's how brough wants it? Ellis seems to be doing a great job for KR- ok in the lower league but still... seems to me Ellis played his best last season early on when brough was injured. Brierley isn't being used effectively. And I still wonder whether Anderson was right and that in SL because of his style of game he would make a better FB than a half.
