This has got to be a joke! If we lose we lose.. the first game of the season is usually a lottery anyway.
If they look fit, show some good signs, work hard for each other and look like they are enjoying it I'll be happy.

Depends how we come out of Wednesday nights game and obviously on whether hinchliffe will spell at 9 and if Ukuma will play at prop.

Also heard Mamo may first be introduced on the wing until he has found his feet.

Lawrence at centre with Murphy on his wing will be great defensively but extremely poor in attack.

There is the potential for Mcintosh af FB with Gaskell at centre but Stone seems to keep hinting at Gaskell to play FB.

Oldham may really benefit this year from us as we have a lot of players who won't be playing in the 19s that need experience.

Smith, Dickinson and English may play a lot of games at Oldham this year and will be hoping to impress to get first point of call when props get rotated.

Sam Wood and Darnell may also play a lot for Oldham too especially early in the season. Same goes for Alex Mellor, Liam Johnson and Mikey Wood

yes widnes dont have mellor or brown but they will have known this for a while and trained accordingly with other players who can play those positions

they will also be missing a prop too who will be banned for a bad tackle on smith of st helens

but widnes are always hard to beat on that ipitch and we havent won there for a while now, infact had some shocking days recently over there!!

look forward too it, lets hope we dont have any injuries against wire this weds..

lawrence at centre will be interesting, one thing is for sure with him next to murphy thats a damn good defence!!

One thing we need to get right from the off is defence so maybe that why Lawrence and Murphy are pencilled in on the left.

We don't want to be losing games 22-26 or 16-20 etc like last year.

We need to be winning those 22-18 and 16-12.

we were 16 points up there last year and blew it, hopefully that kind of attitude that was far too prevelent has neen sorted, l,m hoping that this fitter, faster, more mobile team we have been hearing about, will be suited to that pitch.
