Thewlis would appear to be bullet proof. The coach Anderson is his Puppett and follows out his instructions. Conditioner Brown and now Purtell are shown the door but the Fat controller keeps his job. Players have come and gone and replaced by Aussies claiming their Pension funds. Nothing will happen but it would be nice to see the expression on the face of Thewlis when he looks at the banner.

How do you know what role Thewlis has in the day to day running of the club.

That's a good point, he may be getting a lot of flack that he doesn't deserve, That said some body has made some shocking blunders the last few years, I think there is a good chance that had they not been high up the chain they would have been gone, Just an opinion of course.

Thewils is the M D he is in charge of the day to day running of the club he the one who does the signing of contracts . he answers to Ken and the boared

Thewlis is on the Board, i suspect that Ken could oust him, or it would need a vote of no confidence by the other board members.
l think as MD, he is responsible for all the day to day operations, overseeing all departments. so the O,Donnell mess, the Mason and Kopczak, fiasco,s should be laid at his door.
l have said on this board before, that l have a sense there is a "comfort Zone" down there, in the past we have had problems with merchantizing, shirts, ticketing, publicity, etc. all these things he must have a hand in.
While we are on the subject, l would also be interested on what the other Board members bring to the table.
Before people get carried away l am not voicing my opinions on this based on our present position, l am not unduly worried about being in the middle 8s or having a poor season, it happens and l am confident we will be back in contention next year, but l do believe we could be more dinamic in the overall running of the Club, but then what do we know.

FYI: recently discovered the real reason Brown left from someone who knows him personally and he wasn't shown the door. He was offered a new deal but his business was doing really well so he decided to concentrate on the gym etc. It was a while after this happened that Salford came in with 'an offer too good to turn down'

He wasn't shown the door. Purtill wasn't shown the door either it's a decision based on family.

Put it like this. The Fat controller will not be on Browns or Purtills Christmas card list. Has lost the respect of Brough and other players as well. Fact.

thewlis survives again

The man is bullet proof. He is CO and a Director at the Club. Will survive as long as Ken is around and any new Coach will have to put up with his arrogance.
