| I see he has died aged 82, He played for Huddersfield at one time. Is there anyone on here who saw him play, I can't remember seeing him myself, but I only saw Huddersfield occasionally in those days. My Granddad used to rate him very highly, I would have liked to have seen him, he was apparently a bit special I think he set some records at one time, I expect they will have been overhauled now, He is in the Hall of fame so he must have been a fair player.

| 93 tries in 117 games for us.
IN the Hall of fame as much for his international career winning the WC with GB twice ( the only England layer to do that)
Sold to Wigan for a world record fee.
Was a really quality player and true RL legend

| Yes no argument …...great on either wing ........fast......and as hard as nails!
Think he also played centre and loose forward later in his career
But sadly not featured at the new Wembley so I'm told!
Somebody cocked up in my eyes!

| did you ever get to see him Crackers ?
He was well before my time.
I have read about him and about him being hard ( and quite dirty Especialy in his Wigan days !!!).
Yet he was not that big even by the standards of the day.

Mick Sullivan took over from Lionel Cooper on the left wing and was greeted with the usual 'Will never be as good as Cooper' but he soon became a crowds favourite. He seemed to have a bit of everything flair, speed, was hard and also at times showed a dirty side.I didn't see so much of Fartown and Sullivan in the fifties as most sport was played on a Saturday due to the Sunday observance laws so if like me you played for a local side you only got to watch Fartown when your side was without a game.I met Sully and the rest of the Fartown side after playing in an Huddersfield schools u15 representative match as a curtain raiser and afterwards met the whole of the Fartown team I remember little of either game except feeling awestruck at meeting our 'Heroes'.

| He also (along with schoey) has the most ever GB caps. Can't see that being bettered any time soon.
Dick cracknell has also passed away recently. Another hudds player with international honours.
He played alongside the likes of Valentine, cooper, devery and pepperell.
RIP both those Huddersfield heroes.

I new Dick too Jools his parents had the Railway pub at Lockwood. As you say R.I.P. to two great fartowners. One thing about Dick he could have walked into any side in RL but was kept out most of the time by either Lionel Cooper on the left or Peter Henderson on the right.Oh happy times but I do feel like an old giffer.

| Mick Sullivan was an exceptional winger for Fartown at a time when most clubs had one or two class wingers. He was fast, elusive with a competitive streak. The sort if player who would have stood out in any era. An all-time great! RIP
