| Sums up our games at the moment for me, 2nd game running where we have started well took control built up a lead then spent the rest of the game doing absolutely none of the things we were previously !!
For half an hour we ran harder than them, ran faster than them, tackled hard forcing errors, got in their faces were hammering them in defence and had them rattled - took a 12 -0 lead then either stopped doing those things or we changed our gameplan because for the next 50 minutes we were 2nd best all over the park. Once again our forwards disappeared into their shells as our half backs and wingers were bombarded by Wigan.
Their 1st 2 tries both came from them targetting Kyle Wood out wide....he was powerless to stop Farrell i think it was, steamrolling him...did we change it? no we let them do exactly the same again, why did we not get Kyle some help down that side as they kept going that way?.
Again composure was an issue...we blew 3 chances in the 1st half and should have gone in something like 28-12 at half time but either rushed our final pass or panicked ...it's performances like today that get the fans frustrated and then start getting on players backs. Is it the players choosing to do things differently or the coaches asking them to play differently ?
Maybe others may have different opinions on today but i definitely left feeling deflated, disappointed and most of all frustrated because for half an hour we were miles better then them !

| Cudjoe would have tightened up that side of the field if he was playing, at least he may be back next week!
hughes can go back into the 2nd row again then.
lost johnson to injury too which didnt help as taai had to do more minutes which limited his impact
we were starved of possession in the 2nd half, too much defending which robs us of energy.. wigan had a say in that too!!

| Also, the usual habit of giving away needless, basic penalties...why oh why do we do this every week ??

| We got no possession at all second half. Wigan did the basics well and made us pay. However we should have been further ahead at half time. You have to take your chances. When Wardle breaks he needs to pass early to Broughton and it is a try. Then when Connor gets the ball all he has to do is hold his line and Broughton has a walk in. Instead he runs into Broughtons space and kills the move.
Second half they score from Mcgillivary spilling the ball which was unfortunate as the ball could have gone anywhere. Brough the scores a brilliant try but the game changer was Connors feeble tackle attempt on Bateman.
Thought we played ok for long periods. Simpson, Mcgillivary, Brough, Taii, Wardle all played well. I am getting concerned about Connor he misses far too many tackles and seems to drop a lot of ball and make very basic mistakes in attack.

He also seems to be developing quite an attitude as well (and not in a good way). He obviously shows a lot of promise but he does need to wind his neck in a bit.
Maybe he's been watching Brough too much and thinks it's ok to have a whinge about every decision. Someone at the club really needs to get this sorted out and have a word with them both.
How many times in history has a referee reversed a decision after being challenged??
To me, it looks horrible, will obviously wind the ref up and gives the opposition ammunition.

| I'll glad I'm not the only one whose been feeling this was about Connor and how he has been playing recently - I'm sure it's just a blip in his development and he'll benefit from the experience but his form is currently a weakness in our defence we can ill afford.

| Did anyone else notice the size of Ellis in the warm-up. Had to do a double-take as i thought we had acquired another prop . Stands to reason why he's not in the first 17 and as a professional needs to look after his body. Also anyone else thinking the contribution of Wood is minimal, he needs to step up to the plate, as we are very one dimensional in our attack . Personally would like to see Connor at stand-off and Wood and Leeming as hookers.

| Our best games are when Wood has stepped up and bossed the game, taking first receiver from Brough and basicay running the game with Brough chiming in for special plays
He's stopped doing that and allows Brough to dominate which means it's easy for the defence to smother our attack

| Tell you what that Bateman lad doesnt half have a side step on him! like faiumu! went round connor like he wasnt there... he did it in the first game of the season against us too if you remember and basically won the game for them.. good player!
id like to see connor play stand off, played well when he played there before.
he has that mongrel in him too, not a bad thing, he was the only one standing up to tautai when he put a late hit in on simpson... we have too many softies in our team as it is..

| Quote: ShelleyGiant "Been the same all season
I wasn't at the game yesterday, so can't comment on that, You have just described what they have been like for the last season and half, Half games here and there when they show they are a match for anyone, The rest Heads down , forwards getting mauled, no line speed followed by endless penalties.
Playing half a game is often enough to beat some teams, It's never going to beat the likes of Wigan, Saints etc. These are the teams who annually contest the playoff places, Which is my whole point about PA, We have had a season and half of this now and nothing looks set to change.
PA said after the Dragons game, That second half was not acceptable, so they apparently repeated it in the next game, He's said the same thing so many times It's getting boring .
Don't think anybody expects them to go out and beat these teams every time ( nice as that would be ) I for one expect them to show a bit of class and play to their potential rather than collapsing and giving penalties in every other set when the going gets a bit tough. If they get beat fine, but don't just keep rolling over. I thought that was what PA got payed for.

| I don't think the second half was anywhere near as poor as the second half against Catalans. We got tired due to the amount work we needed to do without the ball and Wigan had the class to take advantage.
I'm disappointed as we had chances to win the game but we also played a lot better than I expected with the likes of Cudjoe, Murphy and Ferres missing and a full back making his debut.

| Agree with what's been said here mostly. frustrating season but not disheartening. With a bit better game management we can be up there. Speaking of which Wigan had that down to a tee as soon as they hit the front, forcing goal line drop after goal line drop. If we're going to keep down this path of scoring the minimal amount of points we're seemingly on, this aspect of our game really needs to improve. Poor game management along with the inevitable penalty we give away in defence teams will always feel in the game with us atm

| Losing Johnson early doors didn't help - played with 16 for most of the game. Even more reason to respect the ball and keep possession.
