What ARE they saving? Do you really think Leeds need to break the rules to attract the best youngsters?
From what I have read, Leeds responded to requests from Featherstone and Hunslet to let the players train with them. They were never going to play for Leeds this season. Someone at Leeds didn't read the fine print in the RFL rule book and Leeds have fallen foul of that. The biggest losers are the players. They're missing out on decent conditioning and training facilities - in the part time RL environment, I personally wouldn't begrudge them that.
Seems like a pretty pointless rule to me. I agree that only the players in question lose out. I doubt our senior squad benefitted all that much from it.
Jools, could you specify exactly where you think these savings are accruing?
