the clubs involved include Batley - our partnership club, and the issue in question directly involved one of our players. The clubs appealed and were successful in that appeal. We have been in a similar position and had to take the punishment for not winning enough games.

Hard as it seems i think the fact an 80th minute try sent them down has rubbed salt in the wounds and made it an even more bitter pill to swallow, if Keighley had defended well for another 30 seconds they would have survived....Would their fans had been bothered then about this ?? think not !!

If you play an I eligible player you should forgot the points whatever the circumstances as rules have been broken.
The rfl have got themselves in a real mess here and I would think Keighley have a very strong case if they go legal.

I agree they have a case but my point was how it seems sour grapes doing this following the circumstances they suffered relegation.

Maybe but I am sure most clubs would do the same if they had been relegated and a team that had broken the rules had stayed up due to having been given it's deducted points back.

after seeing this on boots and all the problem is the RFL the rules are to complicated on duel/loan players if batley would have signed him on loan there wouldn't have been a problem,there is a saying keep it simple stupid

My understanding is both Batley and Doncaster made genuine mistakes because of the complexity of the situation, not a deliberate attempt to cheat, if it was obvious at the time why didn't the opposition complain? also why didn't Keighley being so close to relegation, complain when the points were given back ??
