at the start of the season paul Anderson was quoted as saying that what happened in previous seasons was irrelevant as the giants of 2013 were looking to create their own history and legacy, and I think his words have come true. last night the Huddersfield giants of 2013

became the first Huddersfield team to "win the league" in 81 years!
became the first and only team to have played in all 3 divisions of rugby league to top the super league table.
became the first and only club to finish bottom and top of super league.
became the first and only club to win the LLS after gaining promotion to super league.
are the first and only non traditional top flight club to win the LLS, by traditional I mean that haven't been regulars in the top flight in the last 40 years.

so while others pour scorn on our achievement you can see why it means so much more to us than possibly any other club in super league, what we achieved last night, no one will ever achieve this again.
and as Anderson said 8 months ago, we have made history and we have created a legacy!!

the fact that winning the shield was a goal set out at the beginning of the year says plenty about the attitude and confidence of this bunch, especially after the shambles of last year too.

I had a cheeky quid at 19/1

no as i did my money two seasons ago when in the same position!! but we blew it.

had brough 7/2 and chan at 40/1 for man of the match on wakey game, thought i was in with a good chance but robbo got it!

Robbo was the Sky one....had Chan 1st try which was compensation.

Should have done the Giants/Cru double really even if it would have been the heart ruling the head but managed not to back Swansea to win the Capitol One Cup too so perhaps I need to start betting that way.

Not sure I agreed but think he has had a better season than some give him credit for and as an unsung hero glad he has had some recognition.

Thought Robbo was outstanding against Wakey. But then so were Chan,Kopczak,Crabtree,Cudjoe and Mcgillivary.

I hope these History Makers had a great Civic Reception this afternoon, very well deserved. Just a shame there was no open top bus, but I guess that's reserved until after the Grand Final!!!!
