Just to be absolutely clear what is your prospective? For what its worth I wouldn't swap Borough for Briers. That other bloke Brough might get a game though as Lee is injured at the moment?

| Right now, Brough is better
That said in his heyday Briers was genuinely world class
He too was criminally overlooked for GB at halfback

| Briers has a far better brain, Brough has more pace.
Briers is a six, Brough is neither a six or a seven.
Briers is a better passer, Brough is a better runner.
Weighing them both up, Id probs opt for Briers.

| Briers at his peak was world class and should have been a GB/England regular, but Briers is not at his peak now and now Brough in my opinion is the better player. He is one of the best tactical kickers, a great goal kicker, speedy, tough, good defender and a good passer, will take a chance or risk and he inspires the players around him. Brough should be an England regular just as Briers should have been before him.

| Briers can play a game in a dinner suit without doubt. Brough is a bit more of a terrier player in the tackle. Both have fantastic kicking abilities and have been seen to torture teams into submission.
On a wider not we have others within the team who can also play with the boot and that's where taking this further in my Promrose n blue eyes I think we have a slight advantage in this department for Friday. However, the pack department concerns me slightly. It should be a cracker and one that should have been televised but for the football.

Spot on, and agree with the previous post about how they both should have been international regulars. A Briers/Brough HB combo with both in their prime would have been great to see!

| Comparing at peak is a no brainer even if i am a Wire, Briers head and shoulders, at this moment though Brough.
Brough has one of the scariest bombs i've seen, he gets some serious height on them for such a compact little guy.

| Briers was a great player, Brough IS a great player. Both great brains for the game and a few years ago I would love to have seen Briers at the Giants even if I can't stand the annoying little git. At the moment though we have Brough who's the best half back in SL.

| In his prime Briers had more tactical nous than Brough has, although he's never had Brough's physical attributes - pace especially.
Close call, but for sheer entertainment value I'd have Brough over Briers.

I accept that its all about opinions and I also accept that I may be biased and that I've not seen enough of Brough, "but for sheer entertainment value" it's got to be Briers
