We called in to purchase a 2013 replica shirt last week from the stadium, and it has always been a sore point with me how much space is taken by Town merchandise. I believe that the space should be allocated by the number of support each team has, and taking averages over the season Town have roughly double our crowds, therefore the Town should have twice the area for display that the Giants have, but they have four times the area we have, it`s not on.
Also when we went to the till to pay, there were four girls on the tills and each of them had a Town casual top on with the Town logo on, at least one of them should have had a Giants top on.
I probably should be thankful she put it in a Giants carrier. If she had put it in a Town one I would have blown up and refused it (the carrier that is).

It's because it's off season. When the season starts we get a bit more space and the staff wear giants merchandise. Town get more space because regardless of crowds the sell more than we do. Our supporters are less likely to buy- and regardless of what people say it's not because of what's on offer- if we had the exact same stuff as the football lot but giants based we still would sell less compared to "supporters" numbers.
Our fans don't want to spend- many dont want to attend or travel away. Just the way it is.

Whenever I have gone in we have only the same amount of space whether it is in season or out of season. And at this time of year the Giants sell a good number of replica shirts and other merchandise for presents.

I'm with you on this GS, everytime i go in, which i admit is very rare as there is nothing that i wish to purchase from there, our stuff has always been stuffed behind the doors and maybe half a rack on the left hand side and the other 90% is HTFC stuff - same with the shop in town, whether it be in season or out of it it never seems to change !

Agree with Jools here, we don't sell enough merchandise to warrant a bigger sales space.

I agree the floor space at the stadium is quite small, but the one in town is about 50/50 from my experience quite a good proportion of floor space is given to the Giants certainly in the Giants playing season.

Giants have 60% under ken davys sporting pride umbrella and the council have 40%.

Ive got a Giants present under the tree ... and its wrapped in Huddersfield town xmas paper!!!!!

The shop is not big enough for Town and I know they have been putting pressure on KSDL to improve the facilities. Absolutely packed on a matchday, you have to queue outside to get in.

The shortcomings of the shop are greatest for the Giants. Giants dont have a proper sales area of their own all the stuff is crammed against the wall, you cant walk around and browse. This is most apparent on a matchday which is obviously a key time from a sales point of view.
