I've been denying it but yes it seems we've got to that point again - the annual mid season slump! The worrying similarity between last season and this is that the defence went to pieces when there were ructions behind the scenes, we've all watched enough to see when things change, and there is a definite change over the last couple of weeks. The spark this year seems to be the Lunt / Moore thing if another thread is to be believed, and this is down to NB to manage, which it seems he can't. So unless theres a dramatic change it looks like this season going south!
NB has adopted this way of playing which means we have no genuine 6 or 13 and we are lightweight in the forwards, on top of which there are weekly baffling team selections. I get the impression he is trying to be too clever and is just causing confusion. We need round pegs in round holes - and lets get back to a 6 and 13 playing as a 6 and 13 not as extra centres.
My opinion has changed and I now believe NB should leave now and let Anderson see the season out and build for next year. NB has done a good job for us but he can't be fully focused on us - surely he is looking at who he wants at saints for next year?

Last year we hit a slump and people suggested there was trouble in the camp. We saw articles from players saying it was just a blip and no trouble in camp to cause concern. At the start of this season we hear the players are a tighter group of players and the trouble causers had gone so someone was telling porkies mid season last year. So if I hear this season that there hasn't been a fall out, i'll take what they say with a pinch of salt. Something's gone wrong and I doubt with the quality we have across the park that it's just a dip in form. Putting a half d performance in isn't a dip in form, it's a lack of desire to perform for your employers.

could it have anything to do with certain players been told by our new coach they havent a future at the club under him, despite having signed new contracts, just a thought.

Dont believe its a slump, just 4 losses. Other teams have improved or upped the stakes. We need to be consistant and compete in all departments.... Weve been found out, we are a decent team but on par with hull, kr, catalans, leeds but no wigan, saints or wire. Get behind nb & baloo not slate coaches or the players that can perform weekly.

I agree with last post, overachieved in first 10 games. Missing a monster prop and our 6 is not great. Looking at squads probably should be 4th to 6th in league.

i dont think its a slump either 4 losses on the bounce not good, but 3 of those losses in the last 5 minutes, against cats and wigan we competed well to me, better than most lately against wigan, the last 2 were poor defeats to me more to do with the wigan defeat mentally than anything else.

Never mind, next year it may be Saints who are having a mid season slump.
They have a team to suit Brown, no decent halves and a lightweight pack.
That's apart from Gaskell who Rush won't pick.
