Anyone any ideas on cheapest/best way to do this, looking to go over with family, 2 adults and 2 kids, poss stay 3-4 days, something like Fri-Sun

There's not a lot to choose from re flights! Bmi Baby have pulled out of Manchester so it means a trip down to Stansted for any directs flights! Also looking now they're not exactly cheap! The plane companies have not exactly made it easy for RL fans to get to the south of France. Montpelier, Carcassonne and Beziers the nearest French airports, Girona and Barcelona the nearest decent Spanish ones!
This year I was very lucky with my flights as I got what I call a ryanair special as they bring their prices way down a few months before departure £12 each out then €6 each back! These were to Girona and out from Liverpool coming back to Luton a lot of messing around but I got a bargain especially it being a £1 to get back up here from London!! I booked my hotel seperately all inclusive and stayed a week so a weeks holiday for me and my lad £300 including the CST day excursion to the match!! And my bizarre travel arrangements all worked out tho I was dreading them not doing so but that was the risk I took to get such a cheap deal!!
Flying to Girona isn't that bad there is a service bus www.frogbus.com which can take you upto Perpignan from the airport, but CST can pick you up from your hotel in the Costa Brava on matchdays and they do an airport pickup too! |

Cheapest flight will definitely be to gerona- we've done it that way both times we have been. First time got the frogbus, second time we stayed a week in costa brava and Catalan tours picked us up from there which was much easier with the kids.

Good time of the year with the bank holiday to recover, can't wait - I'd say Girona is prob best and CST pick up as said.

Another option from Girona is Car Hire, got a car friday to monday last year for £ 55 from Herz through the link on Ryanair site.
It was just a little Kia but did the job. That won't be for everyone but it is useful if you want to go beyond Perpignan itself, like take the kids to the beach - we went to Spain for the day on the Sunday, lovely little resort called Le Roses only about 45 minutes from Perpignan. Spain is much cheaper than France.
