| how do you all think we will do?
i still havnt made up my mind, at first i said i think we might struggle due to having a great starting 20 but then very little backup. i have now just gone through the team again and maybe there are a few "kids" ready to make the jump, even if only to cover injuries at first.
the "kids" of which i refer to are:
jermaine mcgilvery (already proved to me he is a good winger, now needs to break in to 1st team regular)
josh griffin
keal carlile
kyle wood
greg mcnally
joe wardle
perhaps one or 2 more but these are the main lads that could possibly make the big jump into the 1st team to cover and rotate. if these guys here can make the jump and cut it at superleague level then we can and will have a very good season.
BUT if they struggle to make an impact i believe we will fail and could miss out on top 8!! these young lads are our strength in depth, are they ready???

| I think that we'll struggle to beat Wire tbh, but I think we'll give them a game, if not even beat them. After that, it's all about the Young Lads, Wardle will be rookie of the year for me.

| I also thought that we will do well unless we have injuries like last season. However, having seen the youngsters twice now I'm totally confident of having a very good season.
The 6 mentioned above are all excellent prospects - I'd even start with Jermaine as 1st choice winger. And, as I've posted elsewhere, Grix will have to be at his best to keep McNally away from the FB spot.

This needs to be seen in the context of other clubs. I think that our strength in depth is very impressive. take a look at other squads and few are stronger than us in the 20 to 30 squad numbers.
In addition to the players you name I think Walker, Molloy and Sfield could all do a job. particularly against a few of the weaker teams in the competition.
Eg Friday April 8th we play Wolves at home on Sky. A big game.
On Sunday April 3rd we are at home to wakey so there is a short turn around.
With our back up we could comfortably rest a couple of top props + a top back rower + a top hooker / half. We could win the wakey game and have some fresh guys for the Friday match. Our depth allows that.

Because that worked at Salford last year...

As we beat crusaders and wolves in the play offs and reached the Gf semi I suppose it did work, yes

| i obviously hope we can get to old trafford this year and another trip to wembley will do nicely and its certainly not out of the question but will be tough, wigan will be the team to beat again this year i think.
i predict a top 5 finish if all goes well i.e not many injuries and a few other things below
if injuries hit i think we could struggle in the prop department, great starting 4 (crabtree, griffin, mason, patrick) but if one or two of these get injured i dont think raleigh or horne are good enough although horne did impress towards back end of season and could kick on again (or knock on like at leeds!)
Grix needs to be a hit at full back, cut out those stupid wild passes and he can do well..think he will make more yards than brett did..but the jury is still out for now. cudjoe, mcnally (impressed at wakey but needs to play full back more which he might with elliot hodgson going to batley but is academy level good enough?) simpson can also play full back. but lets hope grix does it
Brough - awesome against hull kr, will be taking on more responsibility this season and i think hes in for a massive season, can take charge of games for us. like briers for wire does.
Crabtree - can he get back to the form he was in two seasons ago please? barnstorming runs and offloads!! seems brown/anderson have changed his game but not sure its positive.
Faalogo & o'donnell - these two hit top form and we are in for a treat... faalogo came over with big reputation but so far been hampered by injuries, we know hes class act when fit but another injury v hull kr , ice pack on foot/ankle cant say much about o'donnell yet but seemed busy v hull kr, although didnt look the biggest but makes up for that in agression.
if injuries hit the youngsters likely to come through first and take the step up in there stride are carlile, cording, wardle.

But just imagine if we'd have beaten Salford and therefore finished 4th? We could have gone one stage further, maybe two.

If we are indulging in wishful thinking I will assume we did the cup double.
I do think our squad has some depth. i think salford away last year are stronger than what i saw at wakey. And I think our strongest 17 minus Griffin / Patrick / Fa'alogo and Brough with raleigh / Horne or Waker / Molloy and Wood as replacements would comfortably beat wakey at home.

| l think we will go well, we probably have the biggest squad in SL
l,m going for top 3, we have for sure a god first 20, but the youngsters we have and those we brought in have been given good reps, we have been around the top, and hunting for honours for the last 4-5 years, consolidation is now not the issue, we have to get silverware, and fast, or whatever momentum we have achieved will be lost, remember this is a soccer town, we,ve made massive strides, but it will all be gone , if Town get promoted and we fail again, for me this is probably our most important season, probably NBs last , so a change in regime next year (Baloo) nailed on, no problem with that, but transition can bring problems, This is a very big year for the Giants, and the youngsters will play a major part.
We can do it, Nathan to go out on a high, and every fan should give every ounce in support.

| Flyingprop, l don,t mind your banter mate, l may weaken, and go to the games, but no l will be firm and not renew my ticket, l feel very strongly about this, as l said today on the other post, this could become an annual event, "reseeding"!! oh no problem, the Giants can play at the Shay, as stated l don,t want to think about it. and l know l will not be alone.
