One win doesn't turn around what dross we've been served up so far but clearly the plan from Iestyn for today worked, so if a convincing win over the top of the table team makes him delusional then I hope that he goes stark raving mad by Monday.

| on a peparational note, why did the team coach leave so late to give us no pre match time?you have to expect delays on a good friday morning?.. game day performances arent just on the field, you need a whole team effort plus plenty of relaxation/togertherness for the players to get psyched up and in the right frame of mind
its happened, lets learn from it and caryy on

I thought Eorl was as good if not better than most today.

| good quote i heard from a fartowner after the game was that we weren't just 2nd best today we were 3rd best thats how poor we were.
today there was just a complete lack of anything, apart from support which was very good again.
we lacked cohesion
we lacked any sort of agression in attack and defence.
we lacked any go forward.
we lacked enthusiasm.
we lacked energy.
we lacked any kind of line speed in defence.
we were lacking in the basic rugby league skills, such as passing, tackling, catching and running.
we seemed to lack a game plan, no dummy runners,no angles,no options for the man with ball.
but most disappointing for me was that we lacked effort, effort is one thing you can accept after a defeat but today that was sadly lacking too.
crusaders did everything right, they ran hard, ran angles, tackled, passed and created things, i say created, the first 4 tries were simple basic RL,pass the ball 2 men down and wait for a massive gap to appear,of which the gaps were colossal on our flanks.nothing special we beaten by a more hungrier team who just did the basics right.
very disappointed but lets not get silly,we are joint top with the chance to go back clear on tuesday.
as for who played well, well none of them endeared themselves today,i dont think all 17 men can play so badly in one game again so hopefully we've got it out of our system now.

| simpson. i think he did alright today but still cant say i've been very impressed with him as yet, but to say get rid after 6 games is a bit harsh, you have to give these players time to get used to a whole new way of life etc.
if he is still not performing by the end of the year im sure nathan will weigh up his options but he took some unwarranted abuse from some fans today which was very harsh!

| eorl was good my god i was watching a differnt game , the forwards were woeful in my opinion which in turn made the backs worse, the only forwards who looked lively were kirmond and fuey to me, griff had a go late on , but to me we got beat in the pack and that why crusaders won easily, as was the case at cas,our best 2 defenders didnt play in lod and fergie and it was pretty obvious id say.

Absolutely spot on. We looked to have no game plan or at least adapt the one we had: Danny Brough taking ball in on 5th tackle; running it on the last from 40 yards out on numerous occasions; no attempt at defending bombs on a couple of occasions; unable to cope with Cru's offloads.
From behind the sticks, it looked really, really slow when we had the ball and sometimes we looked clueless. Faalongo doesn't look fit at all - anyone else concerned about him? I think there's something more going on there.
A truly, truly disappointing afternoon.

| i also noticed Doof didn't look fit when he was on he seemed almost lethargic and dis-interested.
what i dont understand is how many tries or chances have come from Broughy's high kicks this year? and how many has he done in the last 2 games ?
i just dont understand why we dont pepper every team with those kicks.
i wont single any players out as good or bad because they were all as bad as each other and no one actually did anything to help salvage the crap we were in in the 1st half.

| Eorl tackled his heart out yesterday. He ran hard, trouble was they tackled him round the legs - difficult to run without legs.
Griff also ran hard and offloaded a couple of times.
I really cannot see how these two can be said to have had poor games.
As for Jerry, I cannot comment about 3 tries on the outside of him, I didn't really notice 2 of them. However, he ran his usual hard self.
Simpson should not have tried to run on the outside but apart from that he did nothing wrong. He ran the ball out hard. If some fo the forwards had have put the same effort in the result might have been different.
Our main problem was a lack of direction and creativity [apart from the unforced errors & silly penalties.
Yes, on paper we should have won. But there's only 2 teams with 2 fewer defeats than us - and they have to play each other.
I really do wonder why some people bother giong to matches. Isn't there enough in the world to slag off without perpetually picking on a small number of our players?

| I watched the Game from the half way line and so had a great view.
1) Very flat performance. Only try was very lucky and never troubled the line in the first half.
2) Things livened up a lot when lunt came on.
3) Forwards never got on the front foot.
4) Crusaders were virtually mistake free and took their chances well - well done.
5) For me simpson had a shocker.
6) Ganson was generous to the Crusaders (probably due to the free chips he got in the hospitality lounge before the game).
These things happen. Better to lose one game by 30 than 3 or 4 by a few points. The main thing is to bounce back against our bogey team Salford on Tuesday.
Finally (although it's a so what)
Giants fans outnumbered Crusaders easily - Loads behind the sticks and 50% of the crowd everywhere else.

Does it really matter, all I know is we took a very good following, and just goes to show the potential if we do well - thought it was a tad petty for those who sang loyal supporters etc. how are we ever going to attract more fans if those that do go get 'loyal supporter' rubbish thrown at them when they do!

I never heard that. We did sing top of the league, you're having a laugh to your players.
You must have seen the "walk" ten minutes before full time. You bought more fans than saints and bradford but they had evening kick offs.

I too was also disgusted at this. The giants fans that sang this to our own fans should take a serious look at themselves.
Not that I did, but I think people had a right to leave before the end if they wanted, it was that bad. EVERYBODY that was there yesterday were loyal supporters. It was a long trip, and I for one could have spent my money in better ways.
I would be interested to find out if any of those singing "loyal supporters" were booing the team at half time.

| They weren't booing at half time and were in fact berating those who were !! ...i understand the point they were making eg why travel all that way just to leave because the team weren't playing well but anyone who travels to an away match has to be a good fan in the 1st place.

Here in Wrexham, with the Crusaders proping up the bottom of the league table, we don't have too worry about attracting band wagoners and glory hunters.

| There was plenty of booing at half time where I was sat and Im not surprised after that first half it was dire. At the end of day you pays your money etc - what I still dont understand is how the majority of the same team who beat Leeds played so badly yesterday. That performance was back to the bad old days for me. I left with 5 minutes to go because quite frankly the performance didnt warrant staying until the end. I did stay 10 minutes after the final whistle at Leeds though (credit where its due) oh that must not make me a loyal supporter sloping off early from Wrexham!.
One thing that did make me smurk was a comment from one of the more vocal sections of our support (presumably these so called 'loyal supporters') when trying to get others to join in was something like ' sing up you miserable b******s or go and support Town'.
Hopefully Tuesday will be better on all fronts!
