Yet their brave bid came to a stunning end when Cudjoe stepped out of the defensive line to intercept a pass and then run away for a 90-metre effort. (Times 2)

| Another double hernia op!!!!!!
Is this a conditioning issue?
Kev and Lunty, is this too much of a coincidence?
We should be told.

| i fail to see anything unusual in proffesional sportsmen having hernias. it has always been one of the most common injuries picked up in all sports.

| I really rate Lunty and think alot of the work that he does is not noticed
I really wish that he would change his mind about the ARL but the money over there is better than here due to salary cap levels
I hope we have a top season and he decides to stay. He is quality

Land of the GIANTS: |
|
| Wanting to play in Oz is one thing, getting chosen is another. Hookers (utility players) are in abundance even over here, Sure his agent will push his CV, but for the Aussies to take notice he will have to be exceptional, he,s good but not that good. Maybe in another year or two, an NRL club may take a chance, in the meantime l hope we get the best out of him.
He,s part of the Giants set up, and l think, hope, we are about to hit new heights, we need players like Lunty to stay, but it will be up to him, (or more likely his agent)

...or a former Hooker turned coach returning to Australia and suggesting him as an option.

ARL??? bet he will enjoy wearing those vests in that league you mean the NRL
hes a good player, better as a hooker but been pushed out by robinson...
doesnt want to get too big for his boots, need to remember where he came from and who got him to this level! great first season for us but suffered second season syndrome last year and no where near as good albeit out of position

I would put my house on the fact that he is Nathan Browns first signing at whatever his new club is.

When you've had two repairs and still have another , then you can consider yourself an expert.
Until then ..... Can it!

And you obviously have full detail on my medical history.
Your accusations against the clubs conditioners are unfounded. Hernias are a common injury.

A common injury??? Debatable but avoidable.
So how many have you had?

| Having had a hernia or several hernias doesn't give you the right to judge our conditioning staff. If anything it proves how the human body is susceptible to injury in the abdominal region in particular. It's like saying eating a cake makes you an expert on baking one FFS; nonsense. You don't need to be an athlete to have a hernia. Poor posture, bad technique when lifting heavy objects, being in poor shape generally and doing something you don't normally do; all these things can lead to a hernia. ATEOTD tsk is correct with his assertion regarding hernias. Professional sportsmen are paid to play and if that means going through a bit of pain and delaying surgery while the off-season then they will choose that option. The key word there is 'choose'.
Elite athletes, highly trained, motivated and well paid. Lunt is an important player for us, as is Brown, and ultimately we don't know all the circumstances aside from the fact RL is a high intensity, high impact game and RL players are committed to the side they are playing for and their team mates. Just like we're not experts in marketing, we're not experts in medicine either. But at this time of year complaining about ST's not being out at x date, the new shirt being at y date, or even the quality of our conditioning staff because of a player needing surgery is all we have to talk about, eh.
Tell me this though; if our conditioning staff and our staff in general are so crap why were we only one game from the GF last season?
There is a thread on here that makes mention to how quiet this forum is. I would suggest that it is because it is full of negative parpage and that the busier forums tend to be much more positive than some of the dross that gets put on here.

| Dan, read my original posting, it was merely a light hearted comment on an unfortunate set of circumstances and in no way implied that the conditioning staff were 'crap'
I think there are too many broom handles stuck up too many sphincters for my liking.
So tarrar lad.
